DESCRIPTION
the project’s object to be develop is the open space located on the the left bank of the River Gilão, bordering the consolidated urban network of Tavira with a communication axis of relatively recent construction. On the other hand, its surrounding has been progressively occupied by commercial areas and sports infrastructures, it is a terrain in an apparent state of abandonment associated to the condition of expectant space, of urban emptiness. The concept for this project was based on the salt industry present nearby the terrain but also in the need of a big green area accessible to everyone for all the outdoor activities.

DESCRIPTION
The proposed exercise is a part of the project “Urban Rehabilitation and Environmental Valorization of a System of Public Spaces in the city of Faro. Its main goal is the development of strategies and proposals for a spatial and functional approach.
SPRING 2017
The approach reflects on the potential social and ecological services that this area can provide to the built environment. The concept consists in the appreciation of the cultural heritage present on the site such as the church, transposing its construction lines to the pavement lines, creating several visibly distinct living spaces in vegetation and function.

DESCRIPTION
This 100m flowerbed was designed with the aim of being the sustainable and low maintenance possible due to its owner demand of a low water need and a low impact on the existing morphology of the soil.
Summer 2017
The design itself was made according to the existing counter lines, putting wooden bordes where a counter line should be to prevent the soil from falling. The vegetation chosen has low water need and is very common to the region, which means its resistence to possible dry periods is higher.

The soil cover material is as simple as can be with grey and why stone and pine slices to make it fit in with all the pines surrounding. Ultimately, the design process is based on the capicua principle, being the same color pattern from one side to another and vice-versa.

DESCRIPTION
The present restoration is based on the known history of the Palace’s construction and its gardens, as well as the transformations that have been identified over the years. This garden defends its title of a baroque garden due to the numerous elements present in it such as its tridimensional axis-based geometry, trident, sculptures and fountains to punctuate space, existence of broderie parterre, water games, adaptation to the Topography and optimization of views and tree-lined boulevards marking the view system. As part of the methodology approached, it was tried to value, in a way, both known phases of construction, being the maximum goal to find the balance between both. However, if you have information that dates back to the 18th century (the Carvalhal Vasconcelos’ family phase), a more targe ted restoration is proposed for this period, since it marks the emergence of the most important Baroque garden in the region.

LAND UNITS
DESCRIPTION
In order to know what’s best for the county in study and taking into a ccount the land planning process, after a gross analisis of the land itself, it was analyzed in more detail according to its abiotic, biotic and cultural factors. The result was a number of territorial units consisting in land with the same or very close characteristics according to the factors considered more importante, such as precipitation, landform, flora and fauna. One important aspect is the legal and physical conditio ning of the land in question.
