from MAF NZ Annual Report 2022
by MAF NZ
Ian McBride
Welcome to the 2022 annual report and AGM. We continue to stand in awe of our God who is our ever-present help
The highlight again for the year has been the encouraging uptake in recruitment MAF has been blessed by more high calibre kiwis obeying the call of God on their lives to serve in different parts of the globe. They have been sent with the strong support of their churches and individuals who commit to pray with us for them. Ministry partnership between supporters and staff continues to grow overall.
Renovations of the new Kendon Strong MAF Centre were completed in 2022 with thanks to the many who gave to this development. A special thanks to MMM and those volunteers who completed countless hours building and painting. The end result is stunning. We continue to pray for the further development of programmes in the Centre that will support and encourage people on their journey to serve with MAF.
Thank you to our dedicated team of staff. We farewelled Tim from communications. Thanks Tim for the many, many great stories and testimony to God’s work through MAF. We welcomed Abigail Vincent to the team. Abi always provides a welcoming arrival at the office and keeps the prayer needs of serving kiwis ever before us, amongst all her other duties.
As we look to the years ahead, the board and Mark are contemplating how we may further grow the ministry of MAF in New Zealand In particular, major re-developments and capital projects in PNG planned in the coming years will also require significant funds. PNG is a place close to our hearts and has been the genesis of MAF activity in NZ and Australia. To see the work of MAF in PNG beginning to flourish again is encouraging, and for MAF NZ to be able to stand with MAF in PNG as they build for the future will be an honour Building our fundraising capability for this project, and projects in the many other places that MAF serves, is a key objective for us this year.
A big thanks to each of you who prayed, gave and served with MAF this year, for the lives impacted with God’s love and redeeming message of forgiveness and hope.
Covid restrictions may have again limited, or re-directed our activities for the year, yet through it all God has demonstrated his power, love and care for us and proven to us again that apart from Him we can do nothing. His power has been made perfect in our weakness. As Solomon prayed at the dedication of the temple “The heavens, even the highest heaven, cannot contain you. ” 1 Kings 8:27
