What is MAF?

The MAF Day of Prayer

Imagine that you or your child is sick. There are no doctors, no medicine and no 999 services. The only place where you can get help is a three-day walk away. Roads are treacherous and may be impassable. Suddenly that curable illness becomes deadly. Hope is lost unless another solution appears – MAF!

Together Join with us in praying for MAF’s worldwide ministry

With MAF, a 3-day walk becomes an 11-minute flight. MAF aircraft take off or land every three minutes, performing emergency medical flights, as well as flying in doctors, aid, teachers and missionaries. We are a dynamic Christian charity with many exciting stories to tell – stories of making a difference to countless individuals and communities who live in the most remote regions of the globe. Our pilots fly over jungles, deserts, mountains and swamps to reach the isolated and see lives changed. To find out more, request Flying for Life, our free quarterly magazine. Answered Prayers from 2012 ‘Lord, you are my God; I will exalt You and praise Your name, for in perfect faithfulness You have done wonderful things, things planned long ago’ (Isaiah 25:1) Since our last Day of Prayer we have seen many answered prayers including those below. We serve a good and faithful, all powerful God, to whom nothing is impossible so let us give thanks and be expectant when presenting this year’s requests.

Angola: Give thanks that last

Haiti: Give thanks that the new Cessna Caravan aircraft received all the permissions and paperwork that was needed to operate, and has been flying since November 2012.

Tanzania: Praise God that new airstrips have been completed in the last 12 months, enabling vital medical care and the Gospel to reach local communities on a regular basis. Left: The team in Tanzania celebrate 50 years of service Right: The C182 SMA in Madagascar
