Congratulations to Angela Delfine-Mechler from Chatham University!
The Annuit Coeptis Award honors five early career professionals at a dinner where there can be wide-ranging discussion and exchange about professional issues. These awards were created by ACPA to celebrate the lives of Philip A. Tripp, Ursula Delworth, and Cynthia Johnson who dearly loved to challenge their contemporary and junior colleagues in a spirit of personal and professional sharing, good humor, and intellectual debate. The Latin phrase annuit coeptis reflects Professor Tripp’s optimism for the future by suggesting that “He has smiled upon that which we have begun.” Started in 1979, this annual award honors up to three senior professionals and up to five early year professionals at a dinner where they can engage in lively and thoughtful discussions about professional issues. https://myacpa.org/ awards/
Angela will be honored at ACPA 22 in St. Louis from March 6-9, 2022.

I am beyond excited to introduce, LeadHERship! LeadHERship is an initiative that will provide support, resources, community and more for women within MACUHO. LeadHERship kicked-off in March 2022. On March 16th, we held a virtual conference and professional development opportunity for 228 attendees.
LeadHERship was created and implemented to bring MACUHO women together in community to talk about the challenges and opportunities of being a woman, not only in housing, residence life, and operations, but Higher Education as a whole.
“Amazing things happen when women help other women”. While the drive for growing one’s own career goals may be present, women are often faced with pressures and stereotypes that sometimes get in the way of applying for the job, being authentic in the workplace and advocating for themselves. LeadHERship will provide opportunities for women to come together to share their journeys and career trajectories. LeadHERship will provide space for women to share how professional relationships have shaped their professional success and helped them better contribute to the field and become better leaders. Participants of LeadHERship will engage in activities that will enhance their ability to network and make connections within MACUHO. It is my hope that LeadHERship will inspire woman to make connections, serve as mentors, give back to our profession and overall help individuals align their personal and professional desires.
LeadHERship is for ALL women. Our goal is to offer opportunities for individuals to join the conversation and provide resources on how to support women throughout their work.
