SOLOPRESS LAUNCHES A NEW ECO-FRIENDLY PRINT RANGE

The environmentally friendly print products are

called Solopress Green. The new range offers a choice of high quality products, printed on recycled paper stocks. What’s more, all carbon emissions are offset through investment in climate protection projects.

With options including business cards, flyers, leaflets, postcards, greetings cards and stickers, and with more products being added all the time, customers can create an impressive suite of ecofriendly stationery and promotional print from the Solopress Green range.

The Solopress Green range uses paper stocks certified by the FSC, or Forest Stewardship Council. This ensures that all the material that goes into the paper stocks is either recycled or comes from sustainable woodland sources. Just because these recycled paper stocks are ‘green’, it doesn’t mean they’re any less white! Modern de-inking processes and production methods produce recycled paper stocks that are bright, white, opaque and smooth — often more so than paper made from virgin fibre.

In addition to responsibly sourced materials, the production and printing processes that go into the Solopress Green range are ‘carbon neutral’. With the help of international environmental consultant

Premier Paper, teamed up with the renown photographer and author Archie Miles to produce a stunning tree themed calendar that directly supports the Woodland Trust.

In the mid 1990s Archie Miles set out to produce a book that provided a cultural overview of Britain’s trees and in 1999 his first book, Silva – The Tree in Britain, was published. Since then Archie has spent over twenty years travelling and exploring, discovering and writing about some of the country’s most fascinating ancient trees.

The Archie Miles — Trees calendar has been printed using Essential Silk from Premier

Paper, a wood free silk, triple blade coated sheet that provides a unique uncalendered silk finish; and features some incredible examples of

Archie’s tree photography including a majestic ancient sweet chestnut in Herefordshire and the tendril like roots of a beech in Ebbw Vale – there is something masterful and captivating about each picture.

Premier’s marketing director Dave Jones comments “We first worked with Archie Miles in 2016 to produce the Treescape book, over 190 pages of Archie’s photographs and commentaries about some of the UK’s most fascinating trees and woodland landscapes. There is something incredibly captivating about Archie’s photographs ClimatePartner, the carbon emissions resulting from manufacture and print are calculated and an equivalent contribution is made to projects in both Europe and the Amazon that reduce carbon pollution. Through working with ClimatePartner, Solopress ensure its emissions are accurately calculated, that contributions are never double counted and that the entirety of their carbon that really draws you in and naturally we felt that this would work extremely well as a calendar; showcasing Archie’s work all year round whilst supporting the Woodland Trust.” footprint is offset.

According to Solopress MD Simon Cooper: Solopress is already committed to sustainable print production, with a proud history of responsible procurement. Recycled stocks have long been part of our offering, and Solopress was one of the first UK printers to adopt environmentally friendly, vegetable based inks. This new range, however, with its focus on carbon offsetting, goes even further to minimise our impact on the planet and to allow Solopress customers to do the same.
