The world has changed in many areas in just a few short months and we have all experienced life in a totally different way. Tragically, Covid-19 has claimed many lives across the world and affected hundreds of thousands of others. As it stands, we are seeing restrictions gradually easing. But if this year has taught us anything, it is that nothing is certain. What appeared to be a short-term interruption to our lives looks likely to be causing issues for some time to come. As we are all aware, most events and shows have been cancelled or postponed, holidays and tours rearranged and individuals and businesses been severely inconvenienced or worse. When this is finally behind us, motorcycling will still be popular of course. In fact two-wheeled transport seems to be seeing more of an uptake. It’s a shame it takes a pandemic to demonstrate the benefits of motorcycling and cycling. Hopefully we will be able to enjoy what is left of the summer in accordance with current guidelines. A trip to the coast for a cuppa and fish & chips will seem even sweeter as places open up. Enjoy yourselves and keep safe. All the best Nick, editor

The Suzuki V-Strom — not a motorcycle previously considered by our moto vlogger, o75, he takes out their latest offering to see what its appeal is all about.
R
esembling a DR 750 S Big and giving an ‘80s retro feel is what Suzuki appear to be instilling into its latest model line-up, which isn’t a bad thing; it does offer a different flavour to the motorcycle market. Going against the grain to return to rectangularshaped lighting, powered by LEDs, its kerbside appeal is aesthetically more satisfying than its predecessor. With bold shoulders offering a bull-style stance over its aluminium twin-spar frame stating decent road presence, the yellow and blue colourway only enhances this statement further. Who’d have thought gold rims work well with yellow? The first thing I noted was the screen adjustment. It’s a tad unique, with a clasp positioned out front and out of reach to adjust while riding. Also, catching my eye was the protruding and exposed positioning of the oil

filter and, while I would imagine it would be quick to replace, how would it handle being shot at by stones flicking up from the front tyre? I spotted an accessible handle just on the left under the seat which you can turn to adjust the rear suspension with great ease. Adjacent is the key to pop open the pillion seat that provides a small amount of storage space and comes with a 12V auxiliary power source so you can charge devices on the go or accommodate a puncture repair kit. Another single USB-style charging point can be found alongside the display, where devices can be easily be attached to the convenient mounting bar. The Suzuki is fitted with both side and centre stands meaning lifting its 247kg wet weight bulk with loaded panniers could be a bit of a struggle. As I sit in the saddle with good posture, I feel comfortable. Visually in front, it’s pleasing to see

REVIEW Suzuki haven’t followed suit with a colour TFT screen that offers the user an abundance of multi-layered menus to find out how the bike is feeling today. It just has a no-nonsense, functional LCD display which simply tells the rider — at a glance — what settings have been applied. Simples. The handguard design found on the XT did restrict my left index finger from operating the pass/full beam light switch. Other than that, the usual control switches are straightforward, well presented and easy to use with modes, lighting functions and cruise control on the left and with power and a sliding hazard switch on the right. Awakening the Euro5 compliant 1037cc 90º four-stroke V-Twin engine is smooth and sublime. It carries a comforting whine to
complement with a deep resonating tone enhanced by Suzuki’s standard can. Having a 33” inside leg, I am on tip-toes. With feet on the ground, I did note the footpegs were catching the inside of my shins. Standing on the footpegs while riding at dead slow speeds made the bike very controllable and stable. With a distinct large adventure-bike feel, the sizeable 20-litre tank, slightly pushing my knees out, contains enough fuel to push this animal to around the 250-mile mark.

YES SIRS For riders who aren’t into all the switches, gadgets and features that bikes tend to offer as part of the package these days, then this bike will appeal. That said, you’ll find Suzuki’s Intelligent Ride System (SIRS) will aid and enhance comfort, rider enjoyment and convenience. SIRS features a Motion Track Brake system, Hill Hold Control, Slope Dependent Control system, Load Dependent Control, Cruise Control, Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS) and Traction Control powered by a six-direction, three-axis IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) sensor. You can get on and go with confidence knowing this bike has you covered. With a new ride-by-wire throttle, you can adjust its sensitivity and response with a push of a button using the SDMS. Option A is sensitive and snatchy, while C is toned down and offers a lot more comfort. THE RIDING EXPERIENCE When opening up the throttle on A-roads, it is swift. The unassuming V-Twin responds with a lusty ear-reacting roar as we safely overtake vehicles returning to its socially-acceptable nature as we resume road position. I like that. I like that a lot! Hitting road-topped hills exposed to strong side winds, the XT remained resolute; my point proved as I realised I was riding with one hand. I wonder how much work its systems were providing without me knowing? Sitting quite proud, with the screen being in its highest position, serving its purpose well as it deflected turbulent air, reducing head buffering to non-noticeable levels. As we rode into the curves, the flippability was a little lacklustre. To be fair, it is an expected response from a bike like this. With two 310mm disc brakes and a 265mm on the rear, the braking is responsive and natural to the rider’s commands. That said, braking downhill on a corner slowing towards a junction, I did encounter a minor squirrel from the rear. With the

50-mile-young Bridgestone Battlax Adventure A41 tyres not having been adequately scrubbed in, the brand new bike instantly responded. Very reassuring. The wide-aspect mirrors work well and, noting minimal visual vibrations, I can now see who I am leaving behind. The cruise control initially took a little understanding but, once locked into my grey matter, I had it sussed; I just needed to make sure I was in fourth gear at a minimum of 40mph. Set, then relax. You can incrementally increase/ decrease the speed at the touch of a button. Riding slowly behind practically stationary traffic towards a junction, it remained stable even at 1mph. I popped my foot down, and the footpeg bit my inner shin. Overall, the riding experience was pleasurable and confidence-inspiring. Taking its £11,299 price point into account, options, build, enduring quality, practicality, and its non-intrusive riding aids, the Suzuki 1050 XT was hitting the sweet spot. I could see myself on one of these riding the roads of the Picos de Europa once again. With the absence of heated grips, I would most certainly add a pair alongside a guard to protect the radiator.

WIRING WHISPERER Daniel Morris describes his biking journey, from starting riding motorbikes at a young age to establishing ‘mono motorcycles’ and becoming a ‘wiring whisperer’.

ased in Funtington near Chichester, Sussex, ‘mono motorcycles’ was established in 2017. Daniel Morris started the company as a mobile motorcycle repair business and moved into a workshop in February 2018. Since then, they have been working very hard to establish themselves in the industry. Daniel started riding motorcycles at a young age. He describes his biking journey and how he came to set up mono motorcycles.

DANIEL: Motorbikes have played a massive part in my life. From the tender age of seven, I was part of a display team called The Wasps Motorcycle Display Team and cut my biking teeth on a Yamaha TY80. I loved the thrill of jumping through fire, leaping over cars and being part of the human pyramid with many of us perfectly balanced on one motorcycle! My father was very keen for me to understand the workings of the motorcycles I was riding so quickly had me servicing
and repairing my own and my friends’ bikes. However, my parents initial plan of letting me ride at such a young age, hoping it would extinguish my desire to ride on the roads later in life, kind of backfired. The understanding of engines at such a young age stood me in good stead and by the time I was sixteen I was stripping, modifying and creating bespoke builds. My first road motorcycle at sixteen was a Yamaha FS1E. The welder I received for my fourteenth birthday was put to great use, as the modifications and repairs came thick and fast. As time went by, I became the go to person for tuning and modifying both cars and motorcycles. After college, I completed an apprenticeship with Sycamore Cars, and I learnt the trade from the inside. The wealth of knowledge I got from this experience enabled me to strengthen my skills set. During my teens, my desire for speed took me off the roads and onto the motocross track, where for many years, I was competing against

THE WIRING WHISPERER some of the best riders in the business. Motocross allowed me the freedom that road riding simply couldn’t give me and I loved it! At the same time, I was honing my trials skills and had my first road bike. Three bikes, three brains! By the time I was twenty-five I was Workshop Controller for a Ford main dealer, followed by running my own business, Gleam Auto Valeting and I became a Zymol detailer. I sold the business and then spent the next ten years working for the AA as a Technical Advisor. Motorcycles, however, were always there; riding, modifying, fixing, racing, a constant in my life! My journey has taken many diverse directions, but finding myself at a point where I was happy and content, I started to look at life differently. Therefore, with the support of
family and friends, I made the leap early in 2017 to move my passion into a full-time business, and mono motorcycles was born. Katy, my partner in life and business, left her career as a secondary school English teacher in January 2018 and has been the mono motorcycles Business Manager ever since. SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE With Daniel’s extensive motorcycle knowledge, he is able to complete works on motorcycles of all makes, models and eras. Daniel is as happy with a 1950’s BSA or Norton, as he is with the very latest Ducati or Triumph. Whether it be a major valve clearance service on a BMW, the latest DATATOOL security to be installed on a Harley Davidson, rebuilding an R1 engine, a Kawasaki gearbox, modifying a VMAX lighting
system, professional detailing to a Triumph Street Triple, 6v to 12v conversion on a Jawa, diagnostics or any manner of service and repairs, Daniel takes enormous pride in everything he does. and two fuses from the loom and that’s only one switch circuit. The ‘motogadget’ m.unit blue can also detect what type of indicators are fitted and flash at the right speed with whatever load, LED or bulbs. You can also set up auto cancel to switch off 30 seconds after releasing the brakes should you forget. The rear sidelight and brake light can be wired using only one wire. Joining the one wire to both connections at the rear light unit, the ‘motogadget’ m.unit blue uses pulse width modulation to control the light. The easiest way to explain this set up is that the rear light is sent a digital wave to both the side and brake lights. The rear light would receive a lower voltage (around 5-6v on a 12v system making a dim light), then, when the brake light is activated, the m-unit blue would send a full 12v signal making the light brighter. The ‘motogadget’ m.unit blue can also sense deacceleration and, utilising a g-sensor, can detect hard braking, which then flashes the brake and hazard lights, to help prevent a rear-end shunt! M-LOCK Another feature, should you choose to use it, is the keyless system called m-lock. It can be activated via a fob or even from the Bluetooth from a smartphone! I really enjoy the transformative nature of the motogadget system and how it can transform the electrical capabilities of a motorcycle. Furthermore, its minimalistic appearance and the sheer amount of cumbersome wiring it does away with is a game-changer.

UPGRADES An average motogadget rewire and install can take between 25-35 hours dependent on the make or model of the motorcycle. It is also dependent on whether it is fuel injected or not and if the customer has specific requirements about where the wires are laid. In some cases of custom motorcycles installs I have worked on, I ensure the wiring is traced inside the handlebars or frame, for example. These are the lengths we will go to produce a seamless and non-invasive finish. BESPOKE WIRING DIAGRAMS One new option the mono motorcycle team is now offering is bespoke technically-drawn wiring diagrams which people can purchase if they wish to have a go at the wiring themselves. Daniel has already had a few orders for these. As long as he has the base model and year of manufacture of the original motorcycle, he is then fully abreast of any modifications or additions made to the motorcycle as well as the needs of the customer; he can ensure the wiring diagram will enable anyone working from home to be able to follow it easily. A TRIBUTE TO ALF The owners and staff at Bowen Moto, in Chatham, have been building a custom bike in memory of Alf. Kevin from Bowen fills us in…
“The project started in November last year after my father “Alf”s passing from complications following a stroke and dementia. His memory used to fail him regularly, but during his lucid times we often talked bikes, as we are both life long motorcyclists, and the conversation often turned to his early memories of the 50’s and 60’s bike scene. “He and his mates used to take part in amateur weekend scrambling, adapting their road bikes for the sport, as in the early days purpose built machines weren’t available. Thus, being based on the Royal Enfield Interceptor of today, “Project Alf” was born. We have sourced parts from various specialist manufacturers and Enfield accessories, to make an homage to the early era, keeping with the underlying theme of adaptation and upgrade. “It has Continental TKC 80 tyres on the standard

18” aluminium rims, two sets of exhausts made by Campbell Customs in Chelsfield, one for the Malle Mile, and one for use on road (slightly more baffling!). A modified air box and Tec Parts fuel commander to enhance performance over standard and give a crisper throttle response. irtual rallies during the Coronavirus pandemic (yes that CV word again) — the sign of the current times?! A group of my rally marshalling friends recently put up an idea on social media to host a virtual rally; four of the friends posted the time and event schedule on social media. A virtual bike show was announced too (which had a prize of a real rally ticket; yes, one where you can attend in person, smell petrol fumes, hear bikes revving and drink real beer with real people — not long now hopefully people). They invited rally goers to share pics of their bikes for the show, pics of them drinking the proverbial alcohol and in compromising drunken situations and even held a virtual fancy-dress competition, among other things. They had aimed at around 100 friends taking part, something to while away the hours during this surreal period we are currently experiencing. Shock horror — 1,174 people later. It proved so popular another was scheduled in May! The power of social media folks and the lure of fun times. Hardship brings out the best and the worst in people, thankfully the best has been the majority. The lure of the open roads has been torture; we are counting down the days to the

freedom reaching us again so we can ride out, meet up and have fantastic weekends. A lot of us are pretty adaptable, we understand the temptation and the essential reasoning behind these restrictions; hence the above-mentioned virtual rally raising its triumphant head and defusing any urges. Many rallies, once they announced the cancellations and postponing, have been inundated with offers of wristband and patch purchases, charity donations, etc. Just to keep the clubs and their respective causes going and ensure their rallies live to fight another day. Another casualty of this trying period is the IFRD; International Female Rider Day. Although the initial date of 2nd May had been cancelled, it was then thankfully rearranged for 22nd August; this was a relief to all of us that had spent time gathering raffle donations and all the general admin associated with organising this fantastic day. The International Female Rider Day was the brainchild of keen motorcyclist, Vicki Gray. Road racer, motorcycling instructor and advocate of all things motorcycling, she is also the owner of Motoress, the online magazine for the female rider and motorcycle enthusiast. Initially based in Amsterdam, she now resides in

Canada and aimed to bring together the female riders of the world in a day long celebration of all things female on two wheels on the first Saturday in May. Extending across all cultures and groups the world over, the idea came about in 2006 but wasn’t launched until 2007 in Toronto, Canada and the group is now a globally intertwined motorcycle ride day for female bikers. With the initial success of the day, originally aimed at being a national event, it quickly grew and after just one year, attracted participants the world over. With Vicki’s theme of “Just Ride!”, the idea of IFRD caught hold and spread like wildfire. “IFRD was born with the purpose of emphasising the fact that women ride motorcycles, enjoy motorcycling and have done since its invention. Women ride all genres of motorcycles, on road and off, but often don’t have time to ride. Our multi-faceted roles as mothers, wives, sisters, caregivers, business owners, etc. often leaves personal pleasure like motorcycling last on the list. My initiative to invite women to come together on one globally synchronized day to “Just Ride!” seemed to me an action which would truly emphasise the number of women riders. Equally, every woman riding on IFRD becomes an ambassador and a motorcyclist rolemodel in her area — a representative of IFRD and its mission” — Vicki Gray, (December 2006) GOING GLOBAL The following year, 2008, IFRD witnessed women riders far flung places such as Australia, England and The Netherlands joining in and contributing to the global message. This was quickly followed by France, parts of Russia and several other countries. Ms Gray initially offered a gift incentive to the first 100 riders who sent in
a picture of themselves by email; but this quickly proved too costly for her as the response was ridiculously huge! This was then replaced with a specified photo contest which was supported with donations from her sponsors and partners, of which the gifts were kindly given to the lucky photo winners. However, this proved equally popular and ultimately caused the website to crash with over 17,000 entries within a few hours! Female riders the world over embraced the IFRD movement and, to this day, it goes from strength to strength. I myself, was involved with the organisation of the ride within the North East of England last year and this year; involving a 20-30 or so mile ride broken into small stretches, 125 friendly, with a few stop offs and a destination with accommodation, raffle prizes and evening entertainment. All in all, it was a fantastic turnout and a great day, promoting the lady rider and having a positive influence on anyone wishing to take up the handlebars, especially our younger generation who we will rely on to keep our passion alive. This powerful message of a movement continues to grow alarmingly, creating its own status as a huge common aim the world over. It is seen as the largest campaign for female motorcyclists in the world, and of its kind today. “IFRD provides a platform for women motorcycle riders to bond with other women, to meet and find like-minded women who ride and develop friendships with which to enjoy motorcycling!” — Vicki Gray Couldn’t have put it better myself — if you should see this advertised near you, take part — you’ll have a cracking day. There are no zips, instead it is closed by roll-folding the opening to create a water-tight seal. With the material being a heavy-duty PVC material, all seams are welded to ensure that they can withstand driving rain even at speed. Inside the panniers feature an internal stiffener to help keep the bags in shape. It is attached to the bike using velcro straps. PROS: A lot cheaper than hard case panniers. UNDER REVIEW: Our latest test is on the excellent Dunlop Moto Road Smart III. With just 1500 miles ridden, they have impressed massively already, wet or dry. Dunlop has developed an all-new carcass and compound, as well as a new tread pattern designed to disperse mor e water. The new front profile has a smaller radius than the RSII, which is immediately noticeable during slow speed manoeuvres. At the back, the radius is more rounded to provide a good balance, while the make up of the new compound allows the tyre to work well from cold and retain their optimum performance longer. Keeping a motorcycle clean can be a trial. Especially exhausts. So, how better to test this new product than to ask the opinion of a professional like Nick Burnett from Sussex Motorcycle valet. The result? Nick: “Oneminute soak and five minutes scrubbing with the supplied pad...I needed to top up the application to keep the pipes wet as the ambient temperature was high that day. There was no strong smell and the product certainly cleaned well.” I’d have to give it top marks although it’s not quite the best but add in the price point and quantity then it’s a great all rounder. THE DUTY OF CARE AT AN ENDURO DAY Philip Scarles from MW Solicitors answers your questions on personal injury incidents The recent judgment in Wells v Dave Thorpe Off-Road Centre has confirmed the extent of the duty of care on the organiser of an Enduro Day. In September 2015, Christopher Wells took part in an off-road motorcycle event at the Bull MX Centre in Llanwonno, operated by Dave Thorpe Off-Road Centre (the Centre). The event was called an Enduro Day and involved riding for approximately 20 miles over varying terrain, including byways. During the afternoon, Mr Wells rode on a byway which contained muddy water. His front wheel struck an object concealed in the water which caused the handlebars to jerk out of his hands and he lost control. He collided with a tree and suffered a catastrophic spinal injury. Mr Wells’ case was that the accident was caused by the negligence of the Centre, who had been in breach of an implied term that the Centre would organise the Enduro Day with due regard to his safety. The Centre admitted this implied term but denied that the accident was caused by negligence or breach of contract. They also relied on a Signing on Form in which Mr Wells confirmed “I acknowledge that I shall be attending a physically demanding, hazardous and dangerous event”. Also a Declaration and Indemnity in which Mr Wells confirmed “I am aware that motorsport is dangerous and may involve serious injury or death.” A safety briefing was held at the start of the day and all participants were graded into three groups. Mr Wells was put into the most experienced group, led by instructor Mark Owen. Mr Wells said that they were going down

a byway in a forest. As he came around a sweeping corner, he saw an area of standing water across the track. He proceeded through the water, his front wheel struck something hard and the handlebars were flicked from his hands. He lost control and hit a tree. It was agreed that the Centre owed Mr Wells a duty of care to organise the Enduro Day with due regard to safety. A key issue was the extent of the duty of care. The Judge concluded that Mr Wells had failed to discharge the burden on him to prove that he struck an object concealed in the water. It was more probable that his fall was caused by striking rocks on the eastern side of the puddle, due to an error in negotiating the puddle. Although the Judge found that Mr Wells had failed to prove the cause of his loss of control as pleaded, he also held that Mr Wells fully accepted there was an inherent risk in off-road motorcycling and that he was aware of those risks. It was an obvious risk to an adult that muddy water may conceal objects. Mr Well’s accident was due to his error. The Centre had organised the day with due regard to safety. There was no duty on the Centre to protect against the risk that water may contain a concealed object as that risk was inherent and obvious on the day. ravel author Duncan Gough has been exploring the back roads of Spain for decades and knows the country inside out. Not only is Duncan clued up on most of the best routes to ride and places to explore, but he really has a passionate understanding and affection for the culture, history, wildlife and people of the Iberian Peninsula. This makes his travel books so much more than a ‘Best Roads’ motorcycle guide. Anyone who takes the time to sit down for an hour and sketch the view understands motorcycle touring can be much more than blatting from one hotel to the next. His latest guide, Cardona to El Pont de Suert is labelled number four but is actually the fifth in the series. It just goes to show that a relatively small
area can offer an awful lot of great riding and range of experiences to the motorcycle tourist. It’s not all about riding 300 miles a day. Duncan’s enthusiasm and attention to little details really draw you in and whet your appetite for foreign travel. If you are considering a trip to this area, I would suggest that these guides are essential items to pack. Bikers tend to head to tried and tested destinations. If you prefer the roads less travelled, check out this guide and Duncan’s other titles such as the excellent Sketches of Spain. In our latest Held offering, Dom Humby reviews the Gore-Tex Madoc Glove. Held have a well-earned reputation for manufacturing well-designed and wellmade motorcycle gloves. We’ve recently tested a few pairs of Held gloves, and all agree that their range encompasses high-quality products and value for money. We’ve been testing the Madoc gloves from late winter to early summer, in ever-changing weather conditions. The Gore-Tex membrane held its own in some seriously wet conditions, without holding any of the moisture in the outer material that some other gloves can. It means you still retain maximum flexibility and control. The gloves also offer a visor wiper to aid vision. The liner has a plush finish inside a knitted cuff. A good level of insulation allows winter use but is also breathable enough to work very well in the warmer seasons. Heat escapes through the lining to prevent your hands from becoming clammy. Using a different type of leather on the end of the index finger provides the ability to use touch screen devices without removing the glove. I found the comfort level outstanding affording many hours of use while keeping my hands warm and dry. Madoc gloves possess excellent levels of protection. The construction features leathercovered impact-tested hard plastic knuckle protectors which are foam backed for comfort. Certified to EN 13594:2015, the gloves offer Teramid protection at the ball of the thumb,

RIDING OUR WAY BACK TO NORMALITY

This year has already been very challenging for us all. Andy Carrott, MAG National Vice Chairman, supplies more information on how we as motorcyclists can adapt to the ‘new normal’.
t’s anyone’s guess as to when the opportunity to go on the big motorcycle tour or to arrange a big motorcycling event will return. All events are either cancelled or postponed and our motorcycling holidays are on hold, but the latest UK guidance has released many a motorcycle and scooter from lock down — at least it has at time of writing. Will there be a second peak serious enough to see restrictions re-imposed? Who knows? By the time you read this, the MAG National Ride To Work Day will have been and gone. Hopefully, you will have seen the adverts on social media and in the motorcycle press, and some of you joined in. The event is intended as a world-wide initiative, having originated in the USA. This year the Motorcycle Action Group (MAG) became official UK promoters after being dropped by the Motorcycle Industry Association. The event ties in well with the Government’s message to avoid using public transport and builds on a White Paper sent to Parliament and all the devolved governments in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The White Paper was the brainchild of MAG, The Vintage MCC and the Trail Riders Fellowship, organisations representing a broad swathe of the motorcycling community. Just prior to publication the British Motorcyclists Federation came on board with a few suggestions and IAM Roadsmart (the motorcycling section of the Institute of Advanced Motorcyclists) have since added their weight to the document, along with Biker Down, Triumph Owners MCC and ACU. Never before has such a large group of rider’s organisations come together for such a project. The document seeks to promote motorcycles and scooters as a vital transport mode as the country comes out of lockdown. Whilst the government seems hell bent on turning city centres into no-go areas for powered vehicles — in particular, anything with an internal combustion engine (ICE) — our petrol-consuming vehicles can help reduce pollution. There are health and welfare benefits to motorcycling too; it’s not just the prerogative of the pro-cycling and walking lobby and the document refers to those too. Within minutes of publication, one Government department contacted MAG for details and there have since been positive contacts made in other areas. What is apparent is a lack of awareness in Government in respect to what motorcycles and scooter can offer. There is a big opportunity for the powered two-wheel community to grow post-lockdown. I have spoken to trainers who are very busy with CBTs although there has yet to be a return to a full training programme. The White Paper document also included guidance to riders but, within a few weeks, the Government moved the travel goal posts so it has been necessary to update it. Despite lockdown, and the limitations presented by travel and meeting restrictions, there is lots going on and much to do if motorcycles and scooters are to benefit as we get used to the ‘new normal’. ADIOS AMIGOS (OR SHOULD IT BE HASTA LUEGO?)
M
any moons ago, way back in 2008, we had the bright idea of starting a regional motorcycle magazine. Together with my wife Debbie, Peter Karmios and Paul Robinson, we hatched a cunning plan just as the financial crisis was about to hit everyone. Much to everyone’s surprise (including my own), the idea actually worked and we have, hopefully, entertained and informed a few bikers over the last twelve years. We have met loads of fascinating people, interviewed top motorcycle sportsmen and women and taken part in two-wheeled activities we would never have dreamt of trying. We have been to countlesss shows and events, some great, some cold and wet! SEB had a race team, with Debbie as the rider, organised trackdays and basically had a blast along the way. Together with many people across the world

I imagine, I have used this lockdown time to reflect on where I am and where life is heading. Whilst mulling all this over a glass or two of vino tinto, I have decided it is the right time to hand over the reins of SEB to the young and enthusiastic team who have been working hard and contributing over the last few years. The media and communication world has changed dramatically and new ideas and approaches are required. So I will be concentrating full time on my activities in Spain and hope to see some of you over here one day. You haven’t quite seen the last of me though…I will be contributing to the new project as it develops. Thank you to all the splendid people we have met along the way and the kind words of support that encouraged us when we questioned our sanity!

SUMMER CLASSIC BIKEJUMBLE IS BACK Over two days the popular Summer Classic Bikejumble for all classic motorcycles returns to Ardingly on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th July 2020.
