Salvatore Trovato, the ceremony was held to present the GOLDEN LIONS MEMORIAL AWARD to DON ROBERTO MALGESINI "For having borne witness until his death to the values and ethical principles of Lion members by acting daily with unceasing loyalty in words, deeds and actions, spontaneously giving to the community and people work, time and money, solidarity to others by offering compassion to the suffering, help to the weak and support to the needy, even to the point of giving his own life." GOLDEN LIONS TO DAVIDE CASSIOLI 22-time world water skiing champion, blind from birth. "Thanks to his determination to want normality, which led him to devote himself to sports, he has become an example to follow, especially for the children who met him on the occasion of his testimonies in schools throughout Italy. He is a great example of courage, positivity and vitality." International Director Appiani will present the initiative, "Brush strokes of autism," in support of families of children with autism. For 106 years, Lions Clubs International, the world's largest service club organization, has stood by people and communities in more than 200 countries around the world through its 1.400.000 volunteer members.
