At this time of year many of us find our thoughts turning to days out and holidays. Whether we are going on a cruise to the Mediterranean, day trip to Swanage or walk to Mudeford Beach we can all take time to pause, look around and appreciate our environment, take time to reflect on our lives, take time to enjoy relaxing with friends and family and take time to thank God for the good things in our lives. As I write this in early May I thank God for the blossom on the apple and cherry trees in my garden, for the fellowship and support of the congregation at All Saints and for the blue sky. We didn’t see too much blue sky in April but it was beautiful at Easter as can be seen in the photograph of the walk of witness. I also thank God for the skills and creativity of so many people which will be demonstrated at the Mudeford Arts Festival-from musicians to artists and potters to cake makers.

We are very grateful to be able to hire Stanpit Village Hall for our Sunday services and other meetings while work progresses on the plans for rebuilding All Saints Church. At Easter we had a very moving, if different, Maundy Thursday shared meal and a packed “church” on Easter Sunday. On Good Friday approximately fifty people took part in the walk of witness followed by coffee and hot cross buns in the grounds of All Saints Church.

Forthcoming events include a Summer Fair at the village hall between 10am and 12.30pm on Saturday, 8 July. As mentioned above, the Mudeford Arts Festival will take place on the 29 and 30 July at the green by Mudeford Quay. There will be over 80 craft stalls selling locally made artisan goods, an art exhibition, food vendors as well as a full programme of entertainment. All Saints has been closely involved in the festival for many years and we provide refreshments and children’s craft activities. We would also love you to join us for Songs of Praise at the Lifeboat Station on Sunday 30th at 7pm. Despite the devastating fire at All Saints we have so much for which to thank God.

Every Blessing, Vikki Miller
