CHRISTCHURCH
LIVING ADVENT CALENDAR 2021 Wednesday 1st December to Friday 24th December Every evening from 1st to 23rd December, a door or window will open at 6.15pm somewhere in Christchurch town centre for a surprise 30-minute pop-up musical or theatrical performance; on Christmas Eve the concluding event will be at 2.00pm. Free admission, no need to pre-book. Each date supports a different local charity with a raffle and a freewill collection. Details from the CLAC website christchurchlivingadventcalendar.org.uk. The Christchurch Living Advent Calendar is a truly collaborative event by the town for the town, organised by the Rotary Club of Christchurch and supported by BCP and Christchurch Town Councils. I am amazed and thrilled by the enthusiasm displayed by the 130 plus organisations and individuals that have come together to stage this event, the first event of its kind locally. The event is the sum of its component parts; 24 local Charities, 24 local Venues, 24 local Performers and 24 Evening Sponsors. The model is ideal for Christchurch as it showcases the local talent and great work undertaken by charities and businesses locally, whilst raising significant sums for those charities. We all believe that this will be a great success and that it will become a regular event in the Christchurch Calendar. We hope as many people as possible will attend these events, have a great time and dig deep and give generously to swell the already committed £12,000 for local charities in December 2021. - Jan Banks, Chair of CLAC Organising Committee, Rotary Club of Christchurch
The Primrose Fund
We are very pleased to announce that the main sponsor for the 2021 Living Advent Calendar is The Primrose Fund. The Primrose Trust was established in 2017 by Kelvin and Pippa Medley-Jones in memory of Kelvin’s late mum, Mrs Primrose (Prim) George. Based in Christchurch, The Trust priority is to support small local charities that benefit children and adults in most need – through disability, age, serious physical or mental illness, or financial deprivation.
