The more interesting take on your café, the more likely it is to be seen; however, the location of a café is also important; why should a person visit my café if a more renown, popular café is nearby? Therefore, by demand, I have to make my café stand out from the others.
The message that the café tries to give is important. A meek, bland cafe is gains no interest and it shouldn't overuse other popular designs. A few questions need to be asked; is your café inviting? Is your café safe? Is it comfy? These questions would help the design in the long run.
These sizes and designs are good at attracting attention, leaving them to be good ideas for kiosks or pavilions
Cafes that are small and adaptable to the environment they are around is also good
Week 2
Industrial style – usually made with brick, stone, steel beams, wooden floorboards and many glass windows
Industrial style also tends to have hanging lights or lanterns
Industrial spaces tend to be quite large because of this, industrial spaces tend to mezzanines to add interest to the space
Furniture within is usually comfy or made out of wood, also known to have murals/art on the wall for the aesthetic
Furniture in the building tends to stick to the colour palette of the room – a range of browns and reds, black and grey
Engine parts are good examples of odd and intriguing ways to design a room
Experimentation with shapes that I had taken from engine parts, I created interesting structures from these shapes to help form a final idea for my cafĂŠ design.
