A “floating” building, seen from below.

I wanted to create a sense of weightlessness by elevating the terminal building, while preserving the ground plane free of obstructions for people’s use and vehicular circulation. Just like an airplane, people can see the building from below and contemplate how its steel structure works to hold the weight of the FBO terminal.

Even when steel is a heavy material, the building is still able to separate itself from the ground, just like airplanes are able to fly while holding their own weight.
