A stadium-building experience should be about the before and after a big soccer match, and it should not become a dead zone when the stadium is closed. If there is no activity on the soccer field, the neighborhood can still take pleasure in its surroundings. The major goal of this design concept was to make it possible for the entire site to become part of the community’s everyday life and activate the zone, not just on game days, but everyday of the year. The design is meant to improve the experience of visitors and the local community; this starts with the stadium grounds and continues inside the stadium. Any time, any day, local families and town visitors are welcome to spend time at the stadium plaza because the design has created a place for people to meet and get away from the busy downtown area of milan.
