IT is true to say that color affects people in more ways than one. The use of color has
the power to manifest our emotions, change our moods, and provoke past memories. Color provides a pathway to freedom through the arts, fashion, design, and unbound creativity. So, welcome to the Autumn/Winter 2017/2018 Tobe Color Report. Caught between fiction and hyper-reality, the four trends you will soon explore range from a natural sense of nature to a fully modernized digital atmosphere. I am grateful to be given the opportunity to provide you with color trends I feel will impact us all in the future. We have curated special material to provide you with the best visual representations that I am sure will both inspire and excite you. Beginning with BARE which seeks to represent a fast emerging wave of modern and eco-friendly designers and consumers through subtle neutrals. NEW WORLD is next - an array of rich, intense tones inspired by the impact of technology and shift to a completely digital era. RETICENT, the pastel group, follows behind and SHORT OPPOSITES completes the report with muted and unusal hues reflective of unconventional pairings. So thank you for choosing to dive into our carefully crafted world of color. We hope you enjoy.

Nomadic, earthy, and ease are all looked upon to evoke nostalgic feelings within this tranquil trend. Cloudy neutrals with a grey undertone emerge into a haze that seamlessly blends together. Dreamy, wintery tones create fragile color combinations which forms a fresh, moody palette that still places an emphasis on comfort.

Beauty in darkness is found between dark, piercing tones that depicts nightfall as a wide source of inspiration. Rich, moody tones form universal blues and reds that blend together, losing their identity all at once. Bright, durable materials become diminished and muted with light touches of tainted green to balance the palette in its entirety.

Reticent embodies smooth, soft nostalgic pastels mostly dominated and grounded by shades of grey. Sterile hues including cool greys, stone bues, and hazy lavenders gives the palette a modern feel, while chalky pinks acts as its counterpart, bringing about retro feels.

Short Opposites’ palette of unexpected pairings are characterized by freedom and bold expression. An imperfect balance of muted, deep tones and bright hues including teals and salmon pinks compliment one another with an obvious nod towards the coming of spring. Sandy nudes and bamboo browns make up a wide range of unusual, but functional colors.
