Title: Turned Facade Critic: Gabrielle Brainard, RPI Project Description: The prompt of the project was to create an inventive Facade system with full construction details. Our team worked with Terra Cotta due to it’s dynamic range of shapes and colors. We wanted our Terra Cotta to have a faux dual color with dynamic moment

Critic: Thomas R. Verebes, RPI Project Description: The studio site was set in Montreal, CA. It was a highway that caused a gash in the urban fabric of the city. We were tasked with bridging the gap. One of our first assignments was to make generative grasshopper scipts that informed our building. I worked heavily in the grasshopper computation, drawings, and model making Software Used: Rhino V-ray Illustrator Photoshop Grasshopper

MICROGREEN-COVERED AWNING SPINE OF SOLAR COLLECTORS
Critic: D. Comodromos, CASE Project Description: The CASE’s mission for this studio was to rethink the New York City Food Cart Paradigm. Overall, the focus was to create a clean energy food cart that delivered nutrition to food deserts while using plants to bio-remediate the air around it. This was a major collaborative project. I worked on all design concepts and worked heavily in the shingle design.

Title: Contrasting Forms Critic: Adam Dayem, RPI Project Description: The goal of the studio was to create a housing complex in downtown Troy, NY. Our instructions were to use grasshopper to arrange and array boxes to create solids and voids for models. The same language found in the study models would later be introduced to the final housing project.

Title: Techno-logic Critic: Ted Ngai, RPI Project Description: The project was to design a new artist residency for the Omi International Arts Center. We started with a sculpture which we deconstructed. The same logic was applied to another organic form. These studies led to the studio picking a formal system and designing our residency in the same formal language as our chosen system. Software Used: Rhino Grasshopper V-ray Maya Illustrator Photoshop

Title: Opposites Distract Critic: Serban Ionescu, RPI Project Description: The studio started with a film. We assigned to extract stills from the film and build up abstractions with hand drawings. From these drawings we moved to models and back to drawings. Eventually we incorporated a vehicle capable of flight (in my case a drone) to interact with a chosen site for the final model.

Title: Rotation Critic: Anthony Titus, RPI Project Description: The basic theme of the studio was to take a given grid and then create forms using extrusion, solid and void. I incorporated the idea of rotation into my project as an exploration of space and to add a sense of balance to work. Finally we were to introduce water into the final site model to see how it would affect our designs. Software Used: Rhino V-ray Illustrator Photoshop Materials Used: Taskboard Foam Core Wood
