The Illinois Constitution of 1848 created township government to serve fundamental needs of citizens. At the grass-roots level, New Trier Township is a government of the people: you and your next-door neighbors. With a population of more than 56,000, New Trier Township includes the villages of Glencoe, Kenilworth, Wilmette, Winnetka plus portions of Glenview and Northfield.
SOCIAL SERVICES
Through social services, New Trier Township government assists individuals and families in crisis, persons with disabilities, youth and seniors. Services for residents in need include: • General and emergency assistance to pay for food, shelter, utilities, clothing medical care and other necessities • Food pantry • Childcare financial assistance • Transportation services • Employment referral services
COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICES
The Township’s Supervisor and Clerk’s offices provide community-based services including: • Passports • Community education programs • Peer jury • Voter registration and election information • Temporary disabled parking placards

The pantry is open during regular township office hours. The pantry is also open the first and second Saturdays of the month (September-May) from 9 a.m.-noon. The pantry provides both perishable and non-perishable food items, paper goods, school supplies and holiday programs for the township residents experiencing financial difficulties.
Passport services are available by appointment during regular business hours. For additional information or to make an appointment, please call 847724-8300.

Representing Northbrook, most of Glenview and part of Northfield, Northfield Township provides residents with a variety of services including assistance with property tax questions, voter registration and passport services, including passport photos. Other services provided are Dial-a-Ride (a subsidized taxi program), temporary disability parking cards plus road and bridge maintenance in unincorporated areas.
The township also offers general and emergency assistance for residents in financial need and operates a food pantry. Special pantry projects include holiday distributions and new school supplies.
