Journal 6 2

Journal 6/2 Our trip to Oxford today was gorgeous, weather and all! Visiting BBC Oxford was a great behind the scenes look at some real studios that offered different insight than our class discussion with Torin. It was interesting to see all of the employees rushing to get work done. Even though BBC is an amazing institution, I’m not sure if I could ever work in such a stressful environment. Even though I don’t produce news, I always love comparing the radio set up at different stations to the equipment at the Impact. Getting to sit and have my picture taken behind the news desk was cool too. Our walking tour was incredible as well. Our tour guide seemed very educated and I felt a little bit silly that I didn’t recognize the names of a lot of the authors he was talking about. I guess I know what my summer reading will be! Oxford has so much history and feels more quaint than London does. I think we made perfect timing for the trip there because we got to see all of the Oxford University students walking around in their graduation attire. They must have been so excited to finish their exams. There is so much history in Oxford and I’d love to go back there some day. Seeing Tolkein’s grave-site would definitely be a stop on that trip.
