Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weeks are
MUD - The spectacles of the fashion industry. official make-up These events take place in capital sponsor cities throughout Europe and give fashion designers a chance to establish their brands and connect with customers and business partners. Again, MUD participated in Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Ljubljana, Slovenia, an up-and-coming city on the world’s fashion stage. This was the fifth time a team of MUD make-up artists led by instructor Vanja Djuran provided the make-up at the MercedezBenz Fashion Week Ljubljana. The most recent event took place in October 2017 and included sixteen fashion shows featuring recognized foreign and domestic designers. Each designer had unique requirements for the MUD team. It was a challenge to develop a strong strategy and stay versatile to execute the varied looks. One show required make-up artists, Tinka Pobalinka and Dominika Monte, to apply bald caps to twenty-eight models in a very short time. It was not a simple process. The artists used a specific procedure to apply special-effects latex and achieve a convincing look. Once the caps were on, MUD team had to create make-up that was consistent with the models skin tone to the bald caps. For another show, the MUD team created the make-up for successful mature models who were representing a designer’s clothes. The audience was delighted by the performance. It is an honor to work for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and MUD is proud to have a constant presence at an event of this caliber. •
