The 5A’s represent the focal points of FRHAM: Access, Adolescent/Young People, AIDS/HIV, Advocacy and Abortion. FRHAM believe that the family as the basic unit of the society, should be protected and developed through policies and intervention.

It is the basic right of the individual to practise family planning because through spacing and timing of birth, family health particularly that of the mother and children can be enhanced, leading to improvement in the socio-economic well-being of families.
