Living Waters Community Church Annual Report 2014-2015
Supporting Living Water's Starts Countdown to Launch There are many ways existing churches can support Living Water's starts. Below are just a few ideas. Enthusiasm: Present the facts of the Living Water's to your congregation in a positive light. A Living Water's represents an opportunity for evangelism; it‟s not a competition for members. Expenses: Materials, supplies and money make great gifts for Living Water'ses. When we started Living Waters We did not have abuilding but Ward Chapel AME came to our rescue.
Rev. Malcolm Xavier Founder and CEO Nana’s Cakes for a Cause
Cakes for a Cause is a Campaign to ensure that all of Gods children live in communities and families that love them.
Contact: Make contact and reach out to a Living Water's start. Find a church planter to “adopt” and write letters of support and encouragement. Consider partnering with a church plant outside your community or a church planter of a different racial or ethnic background. Expertise: Volunteer to help with the business side of a Living Water's. Perhaps a financial secretary or church administrator might donate time to help establish bookkeeping or organization systems for the Living Water's. Volunteer: Send volunteers to help with the Living Water's nursery, to be greeters, to teach Sunday School, or to serve coffee. Prayer: Add Living Water's to your personal prayer list and incorporate them into your prayer ministry. “Prayer is by far the greatest thing existing churches can do for Living Water's.” Prayers for New Starts If anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new! —2 Corinthians 5:17

PRAYER THEMES Pray for the Families that have Lost Loved Ones: During this unimaginable time of grief, pray for comfort, peace, healing, and hope. Pray for the Children of Lefay Lee Elementary School: for all they went through on Friday, pray for comfort, peace, healing, safety, and protection. Pray for the Lefay Lee Elementary School Staff: For the heroic teachers, administration, and staff, pray for comfort, peace, healing, and strength. Pray for First Responders: For those who were first on the scene of this horrific massacre, pray for the police, firefighters, EMT workers, Funeral Home Directors as well as the Hospital Emergency Room staff who cared for the victims. Pay for comfort, peace, healing, and strength for them to carry on. Pray for Community Leaders: For civic, business, and educational leaders whose decisions have the potential to make a difference in this moment. Pray for wisdom, guidance, peace, and strength for them to respond with godly leadership. Pray for Teachers: As they return in a very different school environment this week, pray for comfort, peace, strength, encouragement, and wisdom. Pray for Parents: As they send their children back to school, pray for comfort, courage, peace, and wisdom. Pray for Houston: As the town seeks to come together and move forward, pray that the Lord would allow Houston to become a beacon of God’s love and a symbol of hope.

Pray for the Counseling Community: For those who will listen, give counsel, guidance, and care. Pray for strength, peace, and wisdom, and comfort. Pray for Protection: Acknowledging that this massacre was directly inspired by the evil one, Jesus taught us to pray, “Deliver us from the evil one.” Pray for the Lord of heaven’s armies to create a wall of protection around us, preventing any further attacks, and that Satan and all his works would be cast out of our community in the name of Jesus Christ, our victorious King. Pray for a Revival in Houston: May God move suddenly in our midst to bring a great harvest of Yellow Flowers (representing lives surrendered to Jesus) here in Houston. May this be a turning point – toward surrender to Christ - for many children, youth, and adults in the region. Pray for New Believers: For those who are new to faith in Jesus, that these insidious events wouldn’t undermine their newly forming faith. Pray for increased faith, peace, comfort, strength, and encouragement. Pray for Youth and Young Adults: Those under the age of 25 are at greater risk of being discouraged in their faith as a result of this tragedy. Pray that as they ask questions, God would speak to them, and bring encouragement, peace, comfort and increasing faith. Pray for the Church: May the Holy Spirit equip, empower, and unite the Church in this area- across all denominations- to preach the gospel with boldness, to be the hands and feet of Jesus, and to shine His light into the darkness, ushering in the Kingdom of God here in Houston.

Intercession For Each Other The following sections enable us to focus prayer on those who have not yet surrendered their lives to Jesus.
My Everyday Context (how you know this person e.g. the gym, postal worker, etc.)
Jesus says, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do.” Luke 5:31
Read Luke 5:27-32 Meet Jesus: Jesus knew exactly what the people around Him needed. Each day, we find our lives intersecting with all kinds of people at particular moments, in particular places and for particular reasons sometimes consistently, other times momentarily. God reveals His love to others by asking us, His People, to engage with them and point them to the One who can completely heal and restore them … Jesus! Pray To the right, list the people in your everyday life who do not yet know Jesus, then: • Pray for each person by name • Pray for the Holy Spirit to bring a conviction of sin in their lives • Pray that God would empower you, by His Holy Spirit, to share Jesus with this person

My Town Context Name of my town/city:
Read Luke 5:25-37 Meet Jesus Each of us is called to love our neighbor–the people around us. The wonderful thing about our church family is that we are spread around many towns throughout Connecticut and New York. That means many more neighbors to love! Pray That God would give us the courage and strength to love when we don’t feel able, so that His love will be seen in our community! Pray that this would result in many more Yellow Flowers–representing lives surrendered to Him. *Consider adopting a My Town prayer slot for your town. Email Melena Sorena at msorena@walnuthillcc.org to sign up for a weekly ½ hour prayer slot. Live in such a way as to share Jesus with others. Take a walk or a drive in your community, on your own or with a friend. As you look around, ask God to reveal people and situations for which you can then pray.

Our Expanding Region Context Name of my town/city:
Read Luke 19:1-10 Meet Jesus This is the reason that Jesus came and this is the passion that we have in reaching out beyond our existing campuses into new locations. We long to see many more people meet Jesus for the first time and discover more of what it means to follow Him each day. Pray for our existing campuses and for those yet to come. If you sense God sharing specific Bible verses or thoughts with you for these areas, please email Pastor Adam DePasquale–adepasquale@ walnuthillcc.org - and let him know! *Consider adopting a My Town prayer slot for another campus. Our Nation Context Name of my town/city:
Read Luke 24:35-43 Meet Jesus Just as Jesus revealed Himself to His disciples, we pray that He would also reveal Himself to manyin our nation. In a time of uncertainty in our nation, it’s comforting to know that we love and serve a God who is always present. It is during hard times that many people turn to God. Pray A llow these verses to inspire and guide your prayers. Live in such a way as to share Jesus with others. Political leaders often receive emails and letters criticizing their actions. Consider, instead, writing a note of encouragement to a government leader, someone serving in the military or a local official to say that you are praying for them.

Read Luke 24:35-43 Meet Jesus Although circumstances are not the same throughout the world, human beings are in pain, in need, and desperately crying out for help. God’s answer to a hurting world was to send His Son to create and empower His Church to be His hands, His feet and His voice. prayer workbook: intercession for each other
Pray for our world. Ask God to draw your focus to specific missionaries/church partners and join them in prayer (see map above) • Focus on a nation, and pray that Christ-followers in that country have the courage to share the Good News wherever they go • Ask the Lord to build up His Church so that many would come to know and love Him. You may want to focus on the Church in a region.
Live in such a way as to share Jesus with others. You might want to: • Visit www.livingwaterstoday.org to find opportunities to serve locally. • Write a note for one of our missionaries or organizations. Deposit it in the box in the Prayer Room Prayer Hut or hand it in at the Church in Action area on your campus. We will mail it for you. • If you have children, choose a specific country where one of our missionaries or organizations is serving and search for it on a map. Then look online for news about the country and pray together. For more information on the missionaries and organizations
