President’s Foreword A very warm welcome as always to this, our 125th Annual Exhibition of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. This year our Selection Committee met and it very soon became apparent to us all that the quality of work offered by both members and non-members alike was particularly exceptional - it is a joy to be able to present such a stunning visual feast for your delectation. Alongside our own membership you will spot up-and-coming artists who clearly have a great future ahead of them, an ideal time to snap up a bargain before they in turn are snapped up by leading galleries. Do look at the events we have planned as part of the exhibition and look out also for our members who during your visit will be on hand to advise and enlighten you on many aspects of our work. My tenure as President draws to a close this year and I would like to thank all our members and the staff at Mall Galleries for their support and friendship. It has been an honour and a pleasure to lead such a talented group of artists. One of the pleasures of the job is being able to invite people one admires to open the show. This year we have someone hugely qualified for the purpose. Philip Mould is a distinguished authority on oil painting in the art world, what I would call a proper ‘picture person’, a gallery owner and host of the popular TV programme ‘Fake or Fortune?’. We do hope you enjoy the work displayed on our walls and that you feel tempted to secure something that once purchased will bring you many years of enjoyment

Become a Friend of the ROI The Royal Institute of Oil Painters welcomes your support and invites you to join us as a Friend of the ROI. The Friends of the ROI programme will offer you the opportunity to keep up-to-date with the Institute via newsletters, painting days and ROI Masterclasses held around the country.
