MALLING LIVING MALLING LIVING is an interior design company based near Aarhus, Denmark. A sincere passion for timeless and durable design in high quality was the cornerstones in the foundation of MALLING LIVING back in 2013. We find inspiration in graphic lines, classic design, and Nordic-inspired interior. We create high quality furniture and accessories that fit effortlessly into any home and interior style – and both private and public environments. Our aim is for each product to carry a host of applications and that they should be able to tolerate excessive use – an aim that stems from MALLING LIVING’s roots in the hospitality industry, in which the use of durable materials is essential.
RIKKE MALLING Rikke Malling is the owner and designer behind MALLING LIVING, but she also has a background as restaurant owner and is educated sommelier. In 2005, she and her husband, Thorsten Schmidt, opened the gourmet restaurant, Malling & Schmidt, which they ran for a decade. In 2007, they expanded and opened their second restaurant, Nordisk Spisehus. Coming from a family of architects, Rikke Malling has always had a great fondness of interior design, and since the opening of the two restaurants, she has styled, designed and produced most of the interior of the restaurants to ensure that the overall expression was exactly like she wanted. It was this drive and passion that led to the foundation of MALLING LIVING in 2013. Today, MALLING LIVING is represented at retailers all over Europe.
CLOTHES RACK Despite its simple and graphic design, Clothes Rack is a very stable piece of furniture regardless of the amount of clothes hanging on it. Therefore, it is the ideal wardrobe solution suitable for both private and public environments. With its minimalistic look and straight lines, Clothes Rack creates a beautiful yet discrete frame for the clothes on display.
E L E M E N T TA B L E Straight lines and square shapes characterise the Element Table, thereby forming a minimalistic and timeless piece of furniture. The table’s multifunctionality means that it easily can be adapted to fit your needs. Use it as a coffee table, side table, night stand or place it with our Clothes Rack in the hallway to create the ultimate wardrobe solution.
BAR GLASS The Bar Glass is handmade in lead-free crystalline quality, which is known for its very high clarity. The organic shape fits perfectly in the palm of your hand, and the design, with the grooved bottom and clear top, provides the glass with a raw yet elegant look. Use the beautiful glass when quenching your thirst, as a stylish addition to your home bar or even for your preferred hot beverage, as the glass can withstand temperatures up to 90°C.
BAR DECANTER The Bar Decanter conveys the same design as the Bar Glass with the characteristic grooved bottom and clear top. The Bar Decanter playfully mirrors the well-known design of a plastic bottle yet with another level of sophistication. It comes with a small lid which will ensure that your beverages will stay fresh.
RAISE POT Play with levels and dimensions in your home with our Raise Pot. The pot presents a vast range of styling options and will help you welcome more greens into your home. Put your plants on a pedestal by placing the pot on top of the matching saucer. When using the pot without saucer, it looks like the pot is floating above the surface. On its own, the saucer serves as a small bowl, ideal for bits and bobs around your home.
ROOT CUP The design of our Root Cup is equal to that of our Bar Glass Small but made in stoneware with interesting contrasting surfaces between the coarseness of the stoneware and the smootheness of the glazed interior. The organic shape fits perfectly in the palm of your hand, and the design, with the grooved bottom, provides the cup with a raw yet elegant look.
RAW VASE The vases come in two sizes and two timeless nuances – a soft white and a dark muted grey. The cylindrical, organic silhouette with the small opening in the top makes the vase ideal for a single flower or a decorative branch or straw for a modern look. The surface has a stunning raw texture. Use them individually or place them in pairs.

S E R V I N G T R AY Serving Tray has a beautiful matt brass surface. Stemming from the hospitality industry, the size and design of the tray with the high edges makes it ideal for serving food or beverages at small gatherings. When not in use, you can place it as a decorative item in your home for display of your favourite interior objects, candles or flowers.
EDGE CANDLE HOLDER The Edge Candle Holder has a clean minimalistic look with a shiny chrome finish. The polished surface reflects the surrounding objects, making the candle holder’s overall expression very place specific. Place it on its own, group it with other Edge candle holders or mix it with natural materials in a well-balanced still life.
SOAPSTONE Our Soapstone Bowls come in two sizes. Each bowl has its own set of applications, but put together they make a rustic and untraditional set of tableware. Mix the bowls with porcelain plates to create a modern and contrasted table setting. With their grey-black colour play, the bowls compliment food dishes beautifully. The bowls are also ideal as decorative objects in your home. Use them in a stunning still life, for your favourite jewellery on the night stand, for soap bars in the bathroom or for keys and coins in the hallway.
SMOKED CORK MALLING LIVING has designed a collection of trays made of stunning smoked cork, which will add warmth and texture to any interior style. The trays come in two sizes and have an abundance of applications. Use them as a decorative way of organizing your work space, as the base for a small still life, for oils and spices on the kitchen shelf or for display of your favourite products in the bathroom.
