Special Opportunities for Prayer & Praise
Easter Festival
“Alleluia! Christ is risen indeed! Hallelujah!” These words, proclaimed for centuries at Easter by the Global Church, will resound across the Easter services at the Abbey. During the two weeks leading up to Easter Day, there will be opportunities to journey as pilgrims together; to take time for quiet prayer and contemplation, as in the "Way of the Cross" afternoon and to open hearts, minds and voices in our praise and prayer evening service "Glory" All are welcome to join in this time of healing, reconciliation, and the hope that is found in the risen Christ at Easter.
As well as the Garden Labyrinth, there will be special services and settings for prayer, praise & celebration: Tuesday 11th April 2.00 to 5pm Way of the Cross: The afternoon will be
set aside for prayer based on the Way of the Cross. There will be focal points for prayer around the Abbey and people available for confidential prayer if required. Come when you can, stay as long as you like. 7:30pm Glory Prayer Meeting: Prayer will continue with praise as we share a ‘Glory’ evening together.
6:30pm Maundy Thursday Sung Eucharist 6:30pm Good Friday Devotional Concert with
Malmesbury Abbey Choir. Bible readings will be interspersed with a series of beautiful anthems and motets by Morales, Penalosa, Durufle, Handel, Victoria and Chesnikov.
Easter Day: Services will be held throughout the day.In addition to our usual Sunday services at 9am,10.30am, & 4pm there will be a Choral Evensong at 6:30pm

The Labyrinth is a prayerful meditation that leads pilgrims round a circular maze on which they pause symbolic actions and reflections for personal development. The Abbey team reinterprets this medieval Christian practice each year, using plants and trees to offer a symbolic journey, one garden to another -Eden to Gethsemane-and ultimately a Tree of Life.
