DEVELOPMENT

ALMS INSERTION Construction Spring 2016 Wood, SketchUp, Photoshop

This project required us to create a structure that could be attached to a portion of DAAP’s Alms Building. The model needed to maintain a relationship with the building itself and explore how humans could inhabit the space. My insertion piece is a two story loft that protrudes from the seventh and eighth floors. The insertion piece would have an inclusive environment through the implementation of glass flooring and windows.

ARMATURE Construction Fall 2015 Wood, Plaster, SketchUp

The goal of this project was to construct a 9” x 9” x 18” form that explores the relationship of space between two objects and mediums: the balance block made of plaster and the armature made of wood. I sought to create a parasitic relationship between the plaster and the wood, as the wood seemingly wraps around and protrudes through the plaster when connected.

FOLLY Construction Spring 2016 Wood, Photoshop, Premier Pro

This group project consisted of nine individuals. The “Folly” required us to build an occupiable 8’x8’x8’ construction that relates to the other pieces surrounding it while still maintaining it’s own identity. Our folly was centralized, and therefore was designed as an open construction and a place of rest. My role throughout this project was to document the process of development and construction and to produce a four minute film.

BODY MANTLE Interpretation Fall 2015 Coffee Filters

This piece was designed for the annual DAAP fashion show. The project required us to take a common household item and design a wearable unit only using one form of adhesion that was not tape or glue. I used coffee filters and sewing thread to construct a 5’ long cape with a V-Neck collar. The ruffles of the coffee filters accentuate the flow of the garment.

HAND DRAWINGS Hand Drawings Spring 2016 2H, HB, 2B, 4B Pencils

I completed these pieces in the second semester of my freshman year in Communication Skills II. This course sought to explore our efficiency in the use of various mediums, including pencil, charcoal and micron pen. Each project related to architecture and/or form. EAST END COMPOUND Graphic Fall 2015 Photoshop

The “East End Compound in Bridgehampton was designed by architect Deborah Berke. This assignment required us to choose an architect of our interest and research a residential project that they have completed. We then drew floor plans, elevations and perspectives of the space. From these drawings, we digitally rendered them in Adobe Photoshop in order to convey and illustrate the aesthetic of the home.

SITEWORLD LAYOUTS Graphic Summer 2016 Photoshop, cPanel, HTML In 2014, I joined the “siteworld, a community of aspiring graphic designers who create websites providing resources for public use. These resources include photoshop coloring psds, textures, css stylesheets and more. Being familiar with Photoshop, I joined the siteworld aiming to develop my coding; eventually, I became comfortable with styling, css coding and javascript. Last summer, I launched a webstore in which I sold custom web layouts, tumblr themes and Ps resources.

BOOKSOMETHINGYO Graphic Summer 2016 Photoshop, Rhino

This summer I had the pleasure of working with celebrity hair stylist Cioxcia Cayson. Moving from a local hair salon to her own loft in downtown Cleveland, she wanted assistance in the revamp and decoration of the room. She wanted the theme of the loft to be Jamaican while preserving the edgy, minimalist style of her BookSomethingYo brand. Additionally, I helped Cioxcia design a cover for her upcoming Lookbook.

OVER-THE-RHINE Development Fall 2016 Museum Board, Chipboard

Our current project in studio is to design a film institute in Over-the-Rhine. The film institute must incorporate specific programming while also considering the sequence and circulation of the space. After researching the gentrification aspect of the revitalization of the area, I decided to allow my piece to preserve the historical context of Over-the-Rhine, and design my piece as if I were designing the institute for the original members of the area.
