We believe in Art as a beautiful, unique way to empower people and to make us understand our feelings and our deepest thoughts. Sometimes, that’s all we need, to understand ourselves as human beings. People who are great and bad at the same time, who have both beautiful and ugly parts, who are not perfect – and Art will be there for us during this if you want to find it.

The Metaverse
As brands and all major events went virtual in 2020, in response to the pandemic, so did clothing. That’s not just me talking about re tailers and luxury brands finally prioritizing e-commerce, but about actual digital sho wrooms. Instead of consumers having to use their imaginations to visualize how an outfit looks — and more importantly, how it would look on them — they can now virtually inte ract with any piece of clothing they want. They can take a 360-degree look at a product from the comfort of their homes. They can zoom in on even the smallest details, rather than re lying on a few photos the brand uploaded to the website. Consumers now have the ability to even virtually try on items by dragging one or more products onto photos of themselves.
For fashion designers and brands, learning to blend the real with the unreal is going to become a necessary skill in order to tran sition into the future. Similarly, digital design will likely entice a flood of creative output, so designers and brands must understand how to reach their customer base while mastering digital tools.
It may seem like the Metaverse is best suited to serve the gaming industry and tech giants like Google and Microsoft, but that’s not entirely true. Any brand can find its way into the metaverse, including an executive working in the retail space, and, of course, that’s what I’m most interested in: how the metaverse can transform fashion and how fashion will change our relationship with the
The internet evolved – and it’s still evolving – right before our eyes. What started with di gital pictures of cats and other cute animals has begun a revolution that transformed every aspect of our lives – I mean, can you imagine not having internet all the time the se days? We use it to work, to communicate with our loved ones, to buy things and even to pay our bills.
Asmetaverse.thefashion
ger generations spend more time shopping, socializing and playing there, it’s critical that retail and fashion brands understand how to hop on the opportunities in front of them. It’s time for the fashion industry to create roots on the digital word.
Merging Physical and Digital
16 The Artist Edition | March 2022
A future where new social relationships and sensory experiences will exist? Yes, that’s ac tually what’s happening, and you may have heard of it before: the Metaverse.
As fashion immerses itself in the Metaverse, it can be separated into two different forms: the combination of physical and digital, whe re clothing can be worn using augmented or virtual realities, and fully digital, where items are sold directly to an avatar.
When we think about it, we might think of the apps we use everyday: Google, Instagram, Spotify, Pinterest and many others. But this doesn’t nearly paint an accurate picture of how the current digital landscape is inter lacing with our developing virtual realities. These technologies have taken a hold into our life and we’re already encountering re ality in an entirely new way, it’s like we have two worlds in one now. Digital tools have tric ked our senses into new auditory and visual experiences, and soon enough, this could apply to other senses as well. So, what now?
The future of fashion isn’t driving to a sto re to make sure you’re buying clothing that fits. It’s not a limited shopping expe rience on an online store. It’s being able to virtually see, touch and experience products as if you’re really there.

There’s a firm belief that digital fashion is the future of fashion, because it allows people to express themselves freely in the metaverse. Di gital fashion is more sustainable, more acces sible, and allows for limitless creativity without the constraints of the physical world.

As we live in a world where people are being discriminated and even murdered for their skin color and genetic features, it is our mission to try to make life a little less scary.
Racism goes against everything we believe here in MALVIE
Whether it comes in big gestures, like bullying and name-calling, or disguised as “jokes”, racism is violent. It is always aggressive and has the only purpose to oppress people. And that is something we can no longer tolerate.
We know it will take time for us to make big chang es with worldwide im pacts, but we can try and start somewhere. That’s why we created MALVIE Noir, a special edition des tined to empower people of color and make their voices heard through the art. Also, in the immedi ate term, we are donating proceeds to a black led or ganizations that fights ra cial injustice.
We know we cannot change everything on our own, but we are doing our best to help in any way possible and to show our support in the making of a society in which everyone is safe, respected and gets ev ery opportunity they deserve.
You are not alone!
You deserve to be respected and appreciated for who you are, and nobody has the right or the power to say otherwise.

I get so inspired by reading fashion maga zines, Pinterest, seeing other creatives' work and drawing from that. Using that source of inspiration, but still making it original. I have a vivid imagination and I like to utilize that while modeling.
What is the most challenging being a model? The inherent discrimination and tokenization of Black models. There's so many of us in the industry and yet, you hardly ever see us being represented. It's very frustrating.
What kind of life would you like to have?
EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH
Thank you having me! It's a pleasure. I start ed my modeling career in Atlanta, Georgia five years ago. I relocated to NYC in 2018 to take my career to the next level.
Knowing that things could change at any given minute. You never know what may be in stores for you. Life is so unpredictable.
I'm originally from Fayetteville, North Carolina. I love to shop, travel, cook, being outdoors, be ing in front of the camera, helping others and writing poetry.
Happy to have you here, Danielle. Tell us your story, how did you got started modeling and where is your home now?
What fuels your imagination and provides you with inspiration?
tive reasons. There's MORE than enough space and opportunities for ALL of us.
I see myself as being a successful model and businesswoman. I see myself being fi nancially established and literate. I want to continue to remain my true authentic self and share my knowledge and wisdom with
If you could change something in the modeling world, what would it be?
What keeps you excited about life in general?
I love being in front of the camera. It allows me to escape from reality and use my imagination and creativity. Also, I love when people tell me that they love or are inspired by work.
Looking back how has modeling experience changed your personal/professional life? Have you grown more comfortable with yourself since you have started?
Modeling has changed me in so many ways. I've learned how to project and go with the times because Fashion is always chang ing. Always being adaptive and learning new things, which intersects with my personal life. I'm comfortable with shooting in a room full of people. Posing, learning my angles and facial expressions have changed tremendously.
I least enjoy when I'm not selected for model ing jobs that I qualify for. It sucks. But rejection is a part of modeling. It happens A LOT!!!!
Tell us more about yourself. What else do you do next to modeling?
What do you love most about being a model? What do you least enjoy?
More Opportunities for Models of Color, Dis abled models, plus size, trans and nonbinary models. Instead of it being just for performa
the next generation. Give back to my community.
6@dani_davis_1 Tiktok:
What are the achievements you are proud of most of today?
I landed my very print advertisement in the heart of NYC, I've been published multiple times in esteemed magazine publications, landed my first hosting gig. Mostly, I'm proud of myself for pressing through tough obstacles in my life and reclaiming my power back.
