We believe in Art as a beautiful, unique way to empower people and to make us understand our feelings and our deepest thoughts. Sometimes, that’s all we need, to understand ourselves as human beings. People who are great and bad at the same time, who have both beautiful and ugly parts, who are not perfect – and Art will be there for us during this if you want to find it.

industry becomes more and more familiar with metaverse, and youn

It may seem like the Metaverse is best suited to serve the gaming industry and tech giants like Google and Microsoft, but that’s not entirely true. Any brand can find its way into the metaverse, including an executive working in the retail space, and, of course, that’s what I’m most interested in: how the metaverse can transform fashion and how fashion will change our relationship with the

ger generations spend more time shopping, socializing and playing there, it’s critical that retail and fashion brands understand how to hop on the opportunities in front of them. It’s time for the fashion industry to create roots on the digital word.

Merging Physical and Digital

A future where new social relationships and sensory experiences will exist? Yes, that’s ac tually what’s happening, and you may have heard of it before: the Metaverse.

For fashion designers and brands, learning to blend the real with the unreal is going to become a necessary skill in order to tran sition into the future. Similarly, digital design will likely entice a flood of creative output, so designers and brands must understand how to reach their customer base while mastering digital tools.

Asmetaverse.thefashion

WHAT IS IT AND WHY IS IS THE FUTURE OF FASHION?

The Metaverse

As fashion immerses itself in the Metaverse, it can be separated into two different forms: the combination of physical and digital, whe re clothing can be worn using augmented or virtual realities, and fully digital, where items are sold directly to an avatar.

As brands and all major events went virtual in 2020, in response to the pandemic, so did clothing. That’s not just me talking about re tailers and luxury brands finally prioritizing e-commerce, but about actual digital sho wrooms. Instead of consumers having to use their imaginations to visualize how an outfit looks — and more importantly, how it would look on them — they can now virtually inte ract with any piece of clothing they want. They can take a 360-degree look at a product from the comfort of their homes. They can zoom in on even the smallest details, rather than re lying on a few photos the brand uploaded to the website. Consumers now have the ability to even virtually try on items by dragging one or more products onto photos of themselves.

When we think about it, we might think of the apps we use everyday: Google, Instagram, Spotify, Pinterest and many others. But this doesn’t nearly paint an accurate picture of how the current digital landscape is inter lacing with our developing virtual realities. These technologies have taken a hold into our life and we’re already encountering re ality in an entirely new way, it’s like we have two worlds in one now. Digital tools have tric ked our senses into new auditory and visual experiences, and soon enough, this could apply to other senses as well. So, what now?

The internet evolved – and it’s still evolving – right before our eyes. What started with di gital pictures of cats and other cute animals has begun a revolution that transformed every aspect of our lives – I mean, can you imagine not having internet all the time the se days? We use it to work, to communicate with our loved ones, to buy things and even to pay our bills.

Valentina

There’s a firm belief that digital fashion is the future of fashion, because it allows people to express themselves freely in the metaverse. Di gital fashion is more sustainable, more acces sible, and allows for limitless creativity without the constraints of the physical world.

The future of fashion isn’t driving to a sto re to make sure you’re buying clothing that fits. It’s not a limited shopping expe rience on an online store. It’s being able to virtually see, touch and experience products as if you’re really there.

Whether it comes in big gestures, like bullying and name-calling, or disguised as “jokes”, racism is violent. It is always aggressive and has the only purpose to oppress people. And that is something we can no longer tolerate.

As we live in a world where people are being discriminated and even murdered for their skin color and genetic features, it is our mission to try to make life a little less scary.

Racism goes against everything we believe here in MALVIE

You deserve to be respected and appreciated for who you are, and nobody has the right or the power to say otherwise.

You are not alone!

We know we cannot change everything on our own, but we are doing our best to help in any way possible and to show our support in the making of a society in which everyone is safe, respected and gets ev ery opportunity they deserve.

We know it will take time for us to make big chang es with worldwide im pacts, but we can try and start somewhere. That’s why we created MALVIE Noir, a special edition des tined to empower people of color and make their voices heard through the art. Also, in the immedi ate term, we are donating proceeds to a black led or ganizations that fights ra cial injustice.

I think that’s fine if that’s what you want. But I believe that there is more to life than being famous. I’m focused on leaving a positive im pact on the world and trying to help as many people as I can. This is the type of influence that means the most to me.

to be willing to put in the work and realize that it’s not gonna happen overnight. For me, I focused on working hard, perfecting my craft and providing excellent customer service to my clients. Eventually that led to me building my brand and establishing myself in the in dustry. Without a doubt, building and leading a team of motivated individuals has been the toughest challenge for me in this industry so far and It’s evolving everyday as a leader.

How hard has it been establishing yourself in the industry and what are some of the largest things you've faced?

Yes, I have a great team that helps me strat egize and plan for the brands and magazine covers that I work with. We look at each pros pect and think whether they’re a good fit for my brand and how we can build lasting rela tionships that benefit both parties.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH

Tori Williams

Establishing myself in the business definitely took time. A lot of people think it’s supposed to come fast and easy but it doesn’t. You have

Happy to have you here, Tori! Tell us about the development process that culminated in the artist you are today.

I also found a passion for style and fashion at a young age which led to other creative outlets like entertainment and design. Having an eye for design is a God-given gift that’s helpful in everything that I do today and I absolutely love it!

“My Celebrity Dream Wedding” on VH1 is one of the biggest projects that I’ve been a part of that has left a major footprint on my career. The show has definitely changed me in a very positive way and has challenged me to grow as a planner, designer, artist and as an individ ual.

In modern society, lots of people want to be famous, influential. What do you think about it?

Tell me about a time you had a very stressful day at work and how did you handle it?

How did your upbringing, early life, and steps in the artistic world help you evolve into the artist you are today?

I started planning and designing my clients’ events which took off extremely fast and here I am today.

You have a beautiful portfolio and you have worked on so many projects. Which of the projects you have worked on left the biggest footprint in your career so far?

Leading up to and on event days, putting out multiple fires can be super stressful. So I try to take a moment for myself and think, breathe and make rational decisions about what needs to be done.

Early in life, the desire to make a better life for myself and my family motivated me to work hard. This brought out the hustle and relent less work ethic in me.

If it gets to be too much sometimes I have to step away or take a ride in my car. I choose to take myself out of the situation for a minute so I can regroup then I’ll go back to it.

Thank you for having me. I started off as a hair and make up artist in this industry and even tually moved over to weddings and events.

Did you have a strategy in terms of what brands you wanted to work with, and which magazine covers you wanted to be on?

What is the best piece of advice you've ever gotten and do you follow it?

Where can our readers keep up with your work and get connected with you?

If you could say one thing to someone younger who looks up to you, what would you say?

Readers can connect with me via Instagram or Facebook at @toriwilliamsevents and my website www.toriwilliamsev ents.com

The best advice that I have re ceived was put God first in ev erything I do, dream big, never give up and be myself always. I apply this daily.

I have a few, the first one is hav ing the opportunity to create an amazing event for someone I greatly admire - ex mayor of At lanta, Keisha Bottoms. Second is becoming a black female venue owner and third is being a leading cast member on the number one television show “My Celebrity Dream Wedding” on VH1.

Chase your dreams. Don’t be afraid to fail. Work hard. Listen to your gut instinct. And most of all, never give up.

What has been the highlight of your career so far and what are your hopes/dreams for the future?
