MARCO MODENA
COMPOSITION
Steel is an alloy of iron and other elements. Some elements are intentionally added to iron for the purpose of attaining certain specific properties and characteristics. Other elements are present incidentally and cannot be easily removed. Such elements are referred to as “trace” or “residual” elements. Galvanized steel wire is obtained by immersing the previously produced steel wire in liquid zinc.
APPLICATION
Galvanized steel wire is one of the most versatile materials. It can be used almost everywhere. • • • • • •

Strong Lightweight Durable Resistant to atmospheric elements Malleable Ductile Electrically and thermally conductive Non combustible MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
Thanks to the malleability of this material, I made a sculpture. The letters that make up the name of the material come to life in the plasticity of the material and as a human brain can also be considered malleable as steel wire, the letter E has been mirrored. In-fact despite this reversal, we can still read the word WIRE
