una Logistics, founded in May 2010 to provide logistics and distribution services to a variety of high tech customers, have been able to secure several new major business wins thanks to Mandata’s Manpack3 system.
off the ground. Manpack3’s Warehouse Web interface is used by Lunas’ customers to manage stock levels via an online web portal, speeding up the ordering and distribution process, as well as allowing accurate analysis on quantity and value of stock.
Based in Harlow, Essex, Luna Logistics needed a scalable and reliable software system in place to manage all of their warehouse and logistics operations after winning major contracts with Toshiba, Oce & Cannon, Schneider Electrics and Convoi in early 2011.
Briege Leahy, Managing Director at Luna Logistics says, “Manpack3 plays a critical role in the fulfilment of our logistics and distribution services to our customers; allowing us to manage the operations involved with same day and next day distribution, trunking and cross docking services without any logistical headaches that comes with manual processes”.
After having trialled other supply chain solutions, it was the integration of Mandata’s Manpack3 which stood out as the system of choice to get business operations
“Manpack3 manages the entirety of our Warehouse Operations as well
as interfacing with our Sage accounting software, meaning we do not need to rekey into various other systems or processes, saving a lot of time and eliminating the risks associated with human error.” Briege continues, “We currently have 12 users registered to use Manpack3, but the flexibility of the system allows us to extend at any time to meet the changing needs of the business. The support we receive from Mandata technicians is second to none.” Having grown at such a rapid rate, Luna are planning on investing in further Manpack3 training to keep up to speed with latest advances and features in software systems, to ensure users are utilising the full integration of the software.

COLD MOVE INCREASE PERFORMANCE WITH MANPACK3 E-INVOICING & P.O.D SYSTEMS
C
old Move UK, specialists in temperature controlled storage and distribution, have noted yearon- year savings and significant increases in operational efficiency with Manpack3 and its integrated POD, E-Invoicing and Warehousing systems.
Planning, E-Invoicing and Route Planning, allowing for the smooth flowing of operations from job entry, through to warehouse processing and distribution. James Woodward, Managing Director at Cold Move comments,
After trialling other data management systems, Cold Move deployed Manpack3 in 2005 for its user friendly windows-based solutions, in order to replace the manual processes involved with temperature controlled logistics and distribution operations.
“Manpack3 and the associated modules have had a huge benefit in our efficiency and job timescales. The software is simple and easy to navigate around, creating a much speedier way of inputting and processing jobs, as well as being an extremely efficient way of processing POD’s and customer invoices.”
Cold Move are utilising the integrated nature of Manpack3
James continues, “Manpack3 POD, Invoicing and Web based
planning has saved on our operational costs and expenses; as well as allowing us to free up the time of 1.5 Traffic Planners, re-allocating their focus and attention to other tasks.” “Manpack3 is programmed to accept EDI jobs and coincides perfectly with other warehouse systems, demonstrating the true flexibility and intelligence of the software, creating a full warehouse solution.” Impressed with initial trials of Mandata telematics and Driver Behaviour modules carried out earlier in the year, Cold Move are anticipating full installation of Mandata telematics in late 2011, to benefit from savings in fuel costs and safe driving.

perating in an increasingly competitive market, with customers expecting ever more – but also lower rates, the pressure to remain competitive to customers reached unprecedented levels for UK based distributors, Freightroute in 2010. This along with fuel prices at an all-time high, a fleet size of 126 and annual fuel bills in excess of three million pounds, Freightroute purchased Mandata’s Driver Behaviour software in January 2010 to help ease and control the pressure of rocketing fuel costs to the business, as well as a central tool with which to educate drivers. COMMENT FROM...
Comment From
MARCUS EVANS Head of Telematics Operations Q. Why should current Mandata customers invest in Mandata Driver Behaviour system over other competitors? A. I believe there are many excellent reasons to invest in Mandata telematics. Firstly, we design solutions from the outset to ensure heavy integration and seamless flow of relevant information to all products and areas of your business. In other words, Mandata telematics will help you benefit from your investment in Manpack3, Advanced Services and other Mandata solutions to a higher degree. For example, Job geo-fencing, actual versus planned loads, load costing by vehicle type and dead mileage analysis are just a few examples of the additional benefits of the programme. Secondly, we are a ‘one stop shop’ and have already built up long-standing, trusting and positive working relationships with our customers, giving you complete piece of mind over your investment.
Q. What are the main benefits of the system? A. The main benefit of the Driver Behaviour module revolves around its ability to offer a highly configurable tool in which to analyse important aspects of driver behaviour. In particular, the system has the ability to monitor driving styles closely, to ensure the complete practice of fuel efficient driving, before reporting this information back to the business in a variety of ways which are easy to comprehend. Also, the system allows you the ability to target particular areas of your fleet or groups of drivers, for further analysis and scrutiny as smaller groups, and if necessary, build additional scoring matrices containing different elements. Ultimately, the main benefits of the system include improved driver efficiency, performance and safety as well as reduced fuel consumption, idling and running costs.
Q. What is the expected return or payback on the system? A. If the system is used properly, the results can be truly spectacular. In real terms, increases of around 0.5mpg minimum across the fleet are readily achievable.
Q. How is the system tailored to meet the individual requirements of the customer? A. The customisation of the driver performance system is hugely configurable. Often, a large fleet will be divided up and scored according to vehicle type, pallet weights, work types and geographical areas. Drivers can also be split into groups depending on their type of employment,
Increases of 0.5 mpg minimum across the fleet are readily available for example, distinctions can be made between full time and agency drivers. The setup of different groups is a great way to analyse different aspects of the business and ensures utmost accuracy in data analysis. As far as scoring goes, you may build any number of different scoring matrices, for example, one for rigid and one for artic, or perhaps one for night and another for day drivers. There is also flexibility in the system, with the ability to add or remove different scoring elements for each driver score card and analyse all scores differently. You can establish true idling (every second at speed 0 with the engine switched on) for trunking fleet and also event idling, (idling as events starting after 2 minutes at speed 0 with the engine on) for driving fleet. Creating such matrices is simple, there are a large number of prebuilt components ready to go, which can then be tailored to suit your fleet.
Q. What training and help can be expected from Mandata? A. As always, we will provide you with all the help and training that is required to bring you up to speed as quickly as possible. With the many benefits and features of such a sophisticated system, knock-on effects to other parts of the system is inevitable and will take a little time to settle in, which will involve several site visits from Mandata to assist you. Although the process make take a while to set up, it is guaranteed that the results and savings noted will greatly outweigh the initial effort involved.
Thank you for making this all possible MANDATA
