CLEANSE HER. LISTEN TO HER.

Listening to your wife allows you to really understand her, and see her inner-most thoughts. You also see her needs. Being able to listen is one of the greatest gifts that you can give to your wife. When you listen, understand that she is not asking for your advice, she is simply looking for you to be open to her feelings and thoughts. Listening allows you to see what she is saying, how she is saying it, and most importantly, why she is saying it. By listening, you can discern whether your wife is seeking your advice or just in need of you helping her to find her own answer.

PAY ATTENTION TO HER.

The more you listen to your wife, the better you will get at paying attention to her. Paying attention allows you to learn major and minor details about your wife, such as knowing her favorite things, her love language, when to do things for her, and how to read her moods. When you pay attention to your wife, you can tell when she wants to do something or have something, but denies it to accommodate you or a situation. Perhaps the greatest thing is being able to recognize who God is in your wife, the strengths and gifts that He’s placed in her. Paying attention allows you to love her the way she deserves to be loved.

APPRECIATE HER.

As a husband it should be a privilege to appreciate your wife every chance you get. Appreciation shows her that all she does has value. Our wives do so much daily to make sure all our needs are met as well as running a household. Appreciate your wife by saying thank you every chance you get. Learn how to edify her at all times letting the world know that she is your gift from the Lord. Appreciate her time, her loving, her respect, her patients, her thoughts and her value to your life. This is an action that will always keep a smile on her face.

Cleansing your wife takes loving her mind, body and soul to a new level. As a husband we are taught to cleanse our wife by washing her with the word of God. As we listen and pay attention to her, please be aware that from day to day so much negativity, disappointments and past hurts fill her mind. Sometimes it’s visible and sometimes suppressed. To cleanse her we must pray with and for her daily, speak positive things into her life daily, speak the word of God with her daily and patently help her to focus on the positive only each and every day. As you cater to her as the weaker vessel the stronger she will be.

BE A GENTLEMAN (CHIVALRY) WITH HER.

Being a gentleman shows your wife that you’re a chivalrous, courteous and an honorable man. Doing this consistently will give your wife the assurance that you love and honor her worth. Your wife deserves to have her doors opened, her chair pulled out, having her hand held in public and private, foot rubs and fixing her plate, just to name a few. Being a gentleman is one of the greatest ways to honor your wife, not only for what she does but ultimately for who she is to you. As husbands let’s show our wives and the world that chivalry is alive and well.

SET GOALS THAT STRETCH HER.

Being the visionary of the home it is our job to set the bar high with everything that we do, including setting goals. The goals should include you and your wife at all times. Because we as husbands desire to see all God has instore for our wives, it is good to set all goals bigger than life. High goals are put into place so that we have to be stretched and grow to reach them. As husbands stretching our wives shows her that we believe in her. Believing in our wives is one of the highest forms of love and appreciation.

PLACE HER AS YOUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD.

Yes, place her before parents, children, the household responsibilities, work-related duties, and all the other things that attempt to press their way in front

of your wife. Establishing and maintaining this priority is one way of fostering peace, better communication, and productivity within your home and relationship.

LOVE GOD AND BUILD A RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM. This must be priority over all other things. It is not possible to know God and not love Him, and it is impossible to love someone else and not love God. Establishing a loving relationship with God will properly equip you with the strength and wisdom to truly love your husband with an unconditional lovean Agape love. Furthermore, the love that you have for God allows you to accept His commands, and grow in understanding of His word. As your relationship with God grows, so will it with your husband as God shows you how to submit to your husband as unto Christ. LOVE YOURSELF AND HAVE AN INCREASING DESIRE TO BETTER YOURSELF. The better woman that you become, his inspiration to be better is also increased. He sees you as a suitable helper, a true partner – one who completes him as opposed to competes with him. By focusing on positive change within yourself, your husband will view you as someone to be honored, instead of feeling like you’re trying to change him. Also, it may be necessary to tell him that you are working to make yourself better, so that you can be a better help to him. BELIEVE IN AND BUILD UP THE MAN THAT HE IS TO BE. It is vital that you always keep a positive image of who your husband is to be. This takes work on your part, but it’s worth it in the end. There will be moments where it’s easy to see your husband’s weaknesses or areas you feel he needs to grow in, but trust in God to mold and change him. Continue to build him up, encourage him, speak to and treat him like the man that he is to become. Also, be careful not to compare him to anyone else. Ultimately, you want him to be his best self, who God designed him to be – which is more than what you may desire him to be within a moment.

LET YOUR THOUGHTS, WORDS, AND ACTIONS ALWAYS BE POSITIVE OF HIM. This requires self-discipline on many levels. It has often been said that when we do things, we do them three times: in our mind, in our words, and in our actions. Often, there is much emphasis on guarding what we say or do, because those are external things that others can see. However, our thoughts are internal which only God can see. Don’t allow negative thoughts to build up against what you know is true about your husband – that he is your good and perfect gift from the Lord, and that he is fearfully and wonderfully made. Through prayer, fasting, meditation, and God’s word, tear down the strongholds that have built themselves up in regard to your husband so that your words and actions may always be positive both publicly and privately. HONOR HIM AS THE PRIEST, PROVIDER, AND PROTECTOR OF YOUR HOME. To do so requires trust and faith in God at an optimum level. Perhaps this is the area where submission is exercised the most, because it requires a great deal of sacrifice. As the priest of the home, your husband must be respected as the mediator between God and the family. Respect your husband as the one who provides the vision and goals for your family – not just a provider of resources. Understand that God will provide your husband with the vision. Your work is found in his vision. This is not to disregard your goals and dreams. When you sacrifice your personal ambitions, you’ll understand that God has made provisions for your gifts to be used and desires fulfilled in the work that He has given your husband. As the protector of your home, your husband’s fortification addresses anything that may infringe upon the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of your family. If you feel or see that these components are not present in your husband, pray that God develops these things in him. PRAY FOR HIM. Be attentive to your husband’s needs, desires, strengths, and weaknesses in a way that you can prayerfully ask God to address. When you do so, you allow God to use all of His resources to touch the areas of your husband that you’re praying for. Have peace in knowing that you have no power to change anything about your husband, but God gives you the power and authority to pray for him and help him through God’s strength. PLACE HIM AS YOUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD. Yes, place him before the children, the household chores, work-related duties, and all the other things that attempt to press their way in front of your husband. Establishing and maintaining this priority is one way of fostering peace, better communication, and productivity within your home and relationship.

MY LOVE FOR BODYBUILDING WAS BIRTHED FROM PAIN, ABUSE AND WEAKNESS. THEY CALL ME GIJANE AND I LIKE TO THINK OF MYSELF AS THE ROSE THAT BLOOMED FROM THE DARKNESS. I’ve wanted to compete ever since I was 16 years old working out at my gym at the time, Powerhouse, in Jackson, Mississippi. The gym became my sanctuary a place that I began to call home to escape from the dark world I was living in that no one knew about at the time. When I was 14 years old I was raped for a year by someone I considered a friend. I was also assaulted by my boyfriend when I was a senior in high school. Out of fear that no one would believe me, I never wanted to tell anyone. When I did go to court my senior year, the judge gave him 1,000 community service hours and 6 months suspended sentence because he was going to a junior college to play football on a scholarship. It took me going off to college and majoring in Psychology and Gender Studies to have a window into the world of healing for myself. Through working with Family Crisis and going to counseling, I learned that what I went through was not okay and that it was okay to talk to someone and get help. Fast forward to 2012 I got pregnant and became a single mom struggling to finish college at Ole Miss. That summer I moved back home to Jackson to stay with my parents and get help with my baby girl. I studied from Ole Miss online and was a stay at home mom that fall. During the winter I took me and my baby girl back to Oxford for class and slept on my line sister’s couch for three weeks in order to finish three hours. I went back that summer and lived with a very sweet family that I didn’t know as well as took my baby to class with me in order to finish 6 more hours. That fall of 2013 I came back to finish my last 6 hours as independent studies through Ole Miss. I graduated with a BA in Psychology in May of 2014. This is when I reconnected with the gym because I gained 60 lbs through postpartum and depression from being a single mom and trying to finish school. During this time my Alopecia Areata came back because of all the stress which I was diagnosed with in 2005. It is an autoimmune disease where your immune system attacks itself and causes hair loss in the form of smooth round patches. So in October of 2013 after working out and trying to rediscover myself I shaved all my hair off and have been bald ever since.

In January of 2014 I committed to competing. Over the course of 10 months from October 2013 I lost a total of 50 lbs and competed in my first competition The Mississippi in Body Building and received 1st place. In May of 2015 I switched over to Women’s Physique after falling in love and wanting to go pro and won 2nd Place in the Southern Classic and in July 2015 I was in The Mississippi again, this time in Women’s Physique and received 1st Place and Overall. I then stepped out on faith and traveled to Texas and competed in the Texas State where I placed 2nd. After returning home I felt in my spirit it was the right time to go to Nationals and give the big stage a try. I prayed, meditated and fasted about whether God wanted me to go and how I would get there. He spoke very clear and told me our work for the year was not done yet, that He had my back, and that money would flow in an abundance. I started a GoFund me account and got personalized bands saying “I support GiJane” and had fundraisers and sure enough God did not fail me. I raised $5,000 that paid for my entire trip. I placed 7th in the Nation that November in Miami, Fl. In 2016 I decided to stop letting others dictate my life and to just follow my heart so I went back to WOMENS Bodybuilding. I vowed to never switch over again but instead to shine a positive light and to bring back the classic feminine look. I traveled to Texas again March 25, 2016 and competed in the City Limits Championship where I placed First Place AND Overall in Women’s Bodybuilding which qualified me nationally again and I returned to Miami last November where I became ranked number 4 in the Nation. I then prepared to compete July 1st 2017 in Chicago for my Professional Card as a Bodybuilder. I dieted for 14 weeks straight and for 5 weeks my entire life consisted of working out and eating with only 2 hours of sleep. Some days I did anywhere between 4 and 5 hours of cardio which even included swimming. After all of that I won 1st place in Middleweight earning me entrance into the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) and IFBB PRO status! In 2019 I competed in Chicago again for my pro debut and won BEST POSER!

Micheal & Laurie

HALL

Micheal and Laurie first met at an open mic night at their former church, New Horizon Church International. It was that same night they both performed and discovered each shared a love for singing. They exchanged compliments after the event but wouldn’t reconnect till months later when Laurie joined the church’s youth ministry as a praise team leader. Micheal was asked to partner with Laurie in leading the team and they served as praise team and adult leaders for five years. During that course of time, they became the best of friends and, after leaving the team, began dating. During life’s happiest and darkest moments, they were by each other’s side, creating an unbreakable bond that strengthened with each passing year. In 2015, they decided to take their relationship to another level and on August 23, 2015, they tied the knot. Not only would Micheal marry the love of his life, but he would also become a wonderful and devoted father to Laurie’s 14-year old daughter, Aryana. Shortly after marriage, they began posting videos of themselves singing as a duo on social media, which would garner requests for them to sing at various weddings. Seeing that many were being blessed by their gifts, they decided to promote themselves as wedding singers under the name Mr. and Mrs. Hall. Along with blessing other couples on their special day, Micheal and Laurie are committed to growing in love and being great parents to their lovely daughter.

REVIEW

WHAT IS THE MEANING OF MARRIAGE TO YOU? Marriage is a sacred life journey between two individuals who choose to commit their lives to one another, growing and building together in every facet of life. WHAT DOES “BECOMING ONE” MEAN TO YOU AND WHAT DO YOU DO TO WORK TOWARDS IT? Becoming one means choosing selflessness for the greater good of the relationship. Although putting it into action is sometimes easier said than done, when applied, the bond strengthens and the relationship flourishes. What we do to work towards becoming one is to acknowledge and respect our differences but most importantly, make room for compromise. WHAT IS THE MOST REWARDING THING THAT YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED TOGETHER? The most rewarding thing that we have accomplished together has been the nurturing and rearing of our daughter, preparing her for adulthood and watching her blossom into a responsible, intelligent, caring, and respectful young adult. How do you grow yourselves within the relationship? We grow ourselves within the relationship by being honest with one another about one another, holding each other accountable to the goals we set individually. We grow the relationship by regularly setting aside time for one another to discuss our goals collectively and to make sure our goals align with the answers we receive from God in prayer. HOW DO YOU FOCUS ON THE SUBJECTIVE AND RELATIVE STUFF AROUND YOU AND FOCUS ON TRUTH? Sharing various perspectives on a subject can lead to a more enlightened mindset though we try not to give too much energy to things that are not grounded in truth.

the

REVIEW continued

WHO DO YOU SEE WHEN YOU SEE YOUR SPOUSE? MICHEAL: I see my best friend. I see someone I can trust with the things closest to my heart. I see someone who truly wants what’s best for me and for our family. These things may sound cliché to most but I’ve never been one to let just anyone get close to me. I’m a pretty complex person, but she gets me. LAURIE: I see the most sincere, honest, loving, and caring person I’ve ever met. I see a man after God’s own heart. I see God’s gift to me designed especially for me. I see someone that makes me want to be a better person. I see a man who is not quick to judge and looks for the best in people. I see a man who has truly captured my heart. WHAT ARE SOME BENEFITS OF HAVING A SHARED VISION? A shared vision means you have a teammate who not only understands your plight but will also help you orchestrate a strategy to help secure the win. When your goals are aligned with one another, it makes the win that much more sweeter. HOW DO YOU SOLVE PROBLEMS/BRING SOLUTIONS IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP? Open and honest dialogue is a must. We try to get to the root of the problem by retracing our steps and determining where the complication first began. Momentary solutions won’t eliminate the possibility of the same kind of issue arising, so getting to the root makes it less likely to reoccur. When the root is not so easily found and we find ourselves at a cross road, we seek God for his wisdom and guidance. WHAT IS A QUOTE OR SCRIPTURE THAT YOU BOTH USE AS YOU FUNCTION IN PARTNERSHIP? 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

“I am declaring today that I am in a new season.”

LOVE MARRIAGE & PARTNERSHIP | THE REVIEW

new

SEASON SEASONS IN OUR LIVES DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY CHANGE AS DO THE TIMES OF THE YEAR. THE DECISIONS THAT WE MAKE ARE THE CATALYST FOR SEASONS IN OUR LIVES.

A season is marked by the introduction, the release, and the removal of specific things in your life designated to help create an environment for your growth. The introduction could be a person, idea or desire that is connected to a part of your journey; whereas the release is the flow of favor that comes from you actively moving on your decision with consistency. Like the weather, the removal of things whether people, positions, desires, or conditions, is an indication that those things are not needed for your new season. You may have at some point asked, “Why do we even need seasons in our lives?” Consider certain fruits. Have you ever had watermelon or pomegranate out of season? It is not its best. It almost tastes foreign, the texture and color may be off, and the fragrance may even be different. In Jeremiah 7 it declares that those who trust in The Lord will be like a tree that never fails to bear fruit. Understand that you are not bearing the same fruit continually.

There is a season for everything. Your season is the atmosphere necessary for you to bear fruit, and that fruit is meant to meet a specific need. You may have a business partner or friend that leaves, or your child may not respond to instruction the same, even our bodies respond differently to food and exercises over time. Do not be alarmed, offended, or worried by this. Use discernment to know that you need to decide to activate the next season. If not, you will become frustrated by the diminishing quality of the fruit that is being produced. When you decide that your new season is here now, you believe it in your heart, speak it with your mouth and show gratitude for the resources that you have. Time, physical energy, money, connections with people, and snippets of an idea or vision are more than enough resources for the onset of a new season. Rejoice! Your praise is like pollen! It is what produces seeds, fruit, and the next generation. We live by the phrase Gratitude is the seed for more. Though you may start with what appears to be little, be grateful and praise God. Adopt this wisdom principle in your life because it is a multiplier. Keep believing and speaking in faith that THIS IS MY NEW SEASON.

HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE BUSINESS PARTNERS AS DAD AND DAUGHTER? It’s a beautiful dynamic that allows us to grow together as father and daughter. We push each other knowing we have each other’s back. Which in turn strengthens our bond.

WHAT ARE BENEFITS TO WORKING TOGETHER? A great benefit is the fact that we know each other well to where we can flow together. Whether it’s presenting or teaching we are able to back one another up to bring a togetherness and unified front to the team and those we meet. We are also able to build off each other’s strengths.

WHAT PRINCIPLES HELP YOU DAILY AS YOU GROW TOGETHER IN LEADERSHIP? Although there many great principles we are using for leadership, the one that we stand on which is the foundation for all is the Word Of God. The Law of Love Christ laid down for His disciples really assist us in knowing how to interact with people and each other. Becoming servant leaders helps to set pride aside and remain in a state of humility.

WHAT MESSAGE DO YOU WANT TO LEAVE WITH EACH OTHER ? It’s not about where you start but how you finish. Working together for a common vision and goal should be the focus. Life will happen but if there is love, respect, belief in one another and encouragement then success is inevitable.

the lioness woman

On venturing on her own, she founded Full Quiver Services Ltd in the islands of Trinidad and Tobago in April 2008 and has sat as the Visionary on the Board of Directors spearheading the strategic direction of the company leading it to be at the top of its industry for the last 7 years. Since her migration to the US in August 2018, she has started Impact! The Family Company, whose mission is geared towards bringing families and communities together, and The Lioness Woman Corporation whose mission is to help HEROS and SHEROS DISCOVER and ACTIVATE their hidden superpower so that they can DOMINATE through a multi-stream income strategy. With 19+ years of entrepreneurial experience, it is her passion to see individuals enjoy the fruit of success while maintaining a healthy lifestyle in their body, soul and spirit.

the lioness woman the interview

WHAT IS THE LIONESS WOMAN, AND WHAT WAS YOUR DRIVING FORCE BEHIND PRODUCING IT? The Lioness Woman began as a journey to embracing my strength as a woman. For many years, I rejected who I was wishing that I can be more sweet and gentle. But it is through the adversities of life that I formed this connection to the lioness, observing that while she may be seen as strong to the world, she is a faithful wife, a caring mother and fiercely loyal to her family. Her story became my story, and I was able to embrace my ferocity and beauty through the representation of who she is. WHAT IS ONE CHALLENGE AND ONE VICTORY THAT YOU’VE EXPERIENCED IN CREATING, SHARING AND GROWING THIS PLATFORM? The biggest challenge was definitely having to overcome me. A lioness hunts in the night and like her, I prefer to stay in the shadows than being seen by the masses. But my biggest challenge became my biggest victory because in me having to show up I got clarity on who I am and the message that I had to share with the world. ARE THERE UPCOMING PROJECTS THAT READERS CAN LOOK FORWARD TO? IF SO, WHAT ARE THEY AND HOW CAN READERS PARTICIPATE? There are several projects coming up over the next couple of months that are designed to help people discover, activate and monetize on their superpower. Persons can join The RAD Universe Facebook Group to keep up to date with these projects or follow me on my social media platforms.
