7 STEPS TO Creatively K I L L

P R O C R A S T I N AT I O N A N D

S T R E S S

Creativity is like a wildfire - it can start as a small spark but has the capacity to spread into every area of your life and others! If you’ve been in a stale place for any length of time, we encourage you to get moving. May we suggest something aggressive yet fun to fire up some intrinsic motivation that we believe will ultimately push you towards the realization of a truly worthy ideal. Set your mind on creating 30 New Things within a specific timeframe. These things can be 30 new outfits/hairstyles, craft projects, letters to a loved one, implementations of an investment strategy, live videos or food dishes. YOU DECIDE! Check out the guidelines below to get yourself creatively moving towards action and peace.

5

Determine what area you are setting your goal in: fitness, learning a craft (i.e. cooking, make-up, sports, gardening), studying, finances, doing something special for your significant other, etc.

6

Decide on an investment amount between $25 - $200 to cover supplies.

7

Decide if you’re going to focus your efforts for 30, 60, or 90 days and set aside a time that’s best for you to implement what you’ve learned and try out your 30 New Things. Spend 5 -30 minutes on actually doing that thing.

4

Search for new ideas from pictures, videos, books, or other people. Save them, so when you’re ready for the next “thing” you already have a pool to choose from. Take pictures to chart your progress, and share your results at the end of your 30, 60, or 90 day adventure. #30NewThings Once you decide on your next “thing” implement it immediately. Follow up with your next new thing within 1-3 days. This guards against boredom, and stretches your creativity.

Determine what things you will HAVE to do daily. Also identify what things you’ll have to give up or go without doing. The idea behind #30NewThings is implementation, and not perfection. You want to spark your curiosity and creativity by actively engaging in something new and fun. Do not become so focused on accurate execution, and leave room for spontaneity and uniqueness. Make a decision to get moving towards something new; in this case, 30 new things! happy adventures

IS IT NECESSARY

Understanding the difference between necessary and required!

or is it

REQUIRED?

You read that correctly, and it is not a jocular reference to Bryan Williams’ notable interview comment. Have you ever asked the question “Do I have to do this?” The reluctant nature of the question could be the need for clarity, safeguarding your time, feeling inadequate, approaching frustration, lacking value for what you are doing or any number of things. If you’re fortunate, you can hear wisdom respond by posing the question “Where are you going?”

This inquiry will either refine your focus or expose your lack of it. When you have properly identified where you are going and why, skills such as decision-making and time management become automatic. The development of these skills (and others) will be challenged through a testing of your faith. Do you believe that you are where you are going? (Did you get that?...It’s done!) More important than the destination is the person you must be in order to get there. Who you are is your character, His image, the thing you were gifted when God created you and it is directly related to the thing you are purposed to do.

Understanding the difference between necessary and required is a lesson we have been grateful to grow in. It has made the difference in believing and being grateful for our own dreams and goals to believing and being even more excited for the dreams and goals of others that God will fulfill through us. We have learned that doing what is required is a conditioned lifestyle; we’re taught to do what makes us comfortable. At work, in relationships, with our health, our culture teaches us to seek the bare minimum, fulfill just that with satisfaction and hashtag it as “doing the most.” Doing what is necessary gets us past our comfort zone and to a level where our character is strengthened. Often, the things that are necessary will temper us in an area of weakness, revealing our need to rely on God’s strength.

married, but how many choose to celebrate the journey? Anniversaries can be seen as wonderful moments where a couple graciously stands in a threshold to reflect back on where they have been and to look forward to what is ahead of them. Whether a fragrance, a feeling, a frustration, or a funny moment, glimpses of a wedding day can bring to remembrance the freshness of a solid decision or a clammy nervousness that triumphed year after year, progressing into a thriving relationship. The joy of an anniversary comes from the gratitude a couple shares for the entire journey, even the portion that is to come.

JOURNEY

If you are married, have you found yourself looking forward to celebrating your anniversary as an intimate evening or trip, a large festive gathering, or a simple evening at home? Perhaps you’ve grown weary in your marriage, and the thought of your anniversary is a reminder of better times. It could also be possible that you have yet to enter into matrimony, and you have the slightest clue as to what you truly should expect in an anniversary. As a fairly young, yet very ambitious couple, we encourage all that have not done so, to view the anniversary as celebratory time of reflection and resolution. Be thankful for the journey, but set goals as a couple and make a fresh commitment to work towards them!

McCRAY

meet

the McCrays!

Nate and Pam McCray, are first and foremost the proud parents of 4 beautiful children and the grandparent of one. After meeting on their high school Senior trip at Disney World, they knew that they would share many great tomorrows together. As of March 1, 2019, they give God all the glory for celebrating 30 years of marriage. With having a strong faith in God, strong principles and a partnership built upon love, Nate and Pam attribute everything that they have overcome and accomplished to the fact that they always knew the importance of keeping God first, family and then business and everything else in that order. Although, there have been many times of sacrifice throughout their partnership, because the foundation of their partnership was built upon love, they have truly been able to withstand it all. What would have taken most couples out, they have been able to overcome. Bankruptcy twice, repossession to renting cars for over 2 years, Corporate America and a 6-Figure J.O.B. failing them to even becoming homeless, they did not give up and their partnership did not falter. Instead it strengthened them. They have had their ups and their downs and they learned that in the midst of the trials and the tribulations, that nothing happens to us, everything happens for us. So as they struggled together, they realized they would one day succeed together. It wasn’t always easy, but Nate understood how to I.A.O. and adopted this as his mantra…Pam later, yes later, began to understand the power of I.A.O. which was in all things we must learn how to Improvise, Adapt and Overcome. Once she did, she learned how to smile in the midst of the challenges as she began to realize she was Created for Greatness, and that no matter what she understood the greater the challenge, the greater the victory. Now Multi-Million Dollar Earners in the industry of Direct Sales/MLM with Total Life Changes, after failing at it for over 20 years, they know that every failure, every test, every mess that God allowed them to create was only to now share with others that they too are possible. They enjoy helping others understand their health is their greatest wealth while also showing them how to turn their story into financial freedom. They are thankful for the journey that has been chosen for them as a couple. As the Word of God says, “When two or more are gathered in my name, there I am in the midst,” The McCrays have truly been able to witness this and continue to build a strong partnership which is built upon a strong foundation.

WHAT THINGS DO YOU ADMIRE ABOUT YOUR SPOUSE? NATE: Pam has a beautiful spirit! She’s very caring, compassionate and committed, not just to me but to our family and anything that she puts her hands to. She is an amazing wife and mother to our children! PAM: Nate has always been a family man, an awesome husband and amazing dad! Nothing and no one will come before his family and for that we are thankful. What I also love about Nate is the fact that he knows that one can put a thousand to flight, but together as two we can knock out 10,000 and then some. He understands the power of WE. Nate has always been a man that has put us, his family first in everything. There is nothing that he would not do for us and I am thankful that God saw fit to give me exactly what I needed. He is a man that believed in me and pushed me before I ever began to believe in myself. He’s firm to our beliefs and principles and will not compromise himself for the vote of the majority. You either love him or don’t like him…either way he’s good. HOW DO YOU PREPARE YOURSELF TO FUNCTION AS YOUR BEST SELF IN YOUR ROLE AS A SPOUSE? NATE: In alignment with God first of all. I get my direction directly from the source, so I have to spend time seeking His council for our lives, not just my life, we are a team. I keep the big picture in front of me and paint it regularly for US to see. I stay humble because I know that I need her to accomplish the vision that we have together. PAM: I prepare myself by listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit within. I am thankful because both of our parents set a strong foundation and example of the power of marriage and the power of partnership, both sets being married for over 50 years. Understanding the “We” yet realizing there is still an I, self love, prepares each of us to be better for each other.

HOW DO YOU UTILIZE YOUR DIFFERENCES INDIVIDUALLY AS ASSETS TO YOU AS A COUPLE? NATE: We have always known that we were different in a lot of ways from Day 1. I think the first key was identifying and understanding those differences. We are more effective when we don’t have to guess. We are able to bridge the gaps for one another because we know where the gaps are. PAM: Wow, Nate and I are a true example of opposites attracting and balancing each other out. One of the greatest gift we’ve been given is knowing how to respect each others differences and leveraging each others gifts to create a perfect combination.

WHAT DOES PARTNERSHIP IN A MARRIAGE MEAN TO YOU? It is one of the most important aspects of any relationship. In our partnership there are no small you and little I’s, every thought and opinion counts towards our success. In our partnership we each give 100 percent of what we have to make it work. Everything is in play and there’s no such thing as 50/50. It’s all or nothing. AS A PARTNER IN MARRIAGE WHAT IS YOUR ULTIMATE GOAL? WHY? WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO SACRIFICE TO OBTAIN IT? The ultimate goal is freedom without boundaries, because that’s when we know we will be ultimately happy. We believe that there are levels of happiness achieved throughout marriage, and every couple strives for that freedom together to do what they want, when they want and how they want. We’re willing to sacrifice time doing anything thats not creating spiritual, physical or financial stability. We have always believed in a short term sacrifice for a long term gain. WHO IS THE MR AND MRS THAT PEOPLE DON’T GET TO SEE? Doing what we do makes it hard to be private, but we are really just simple private people that want to help others realize their potential just as we did. We believe that there is power in simplicity, and how you build it is how you have to maintain it. Love is the one word that speaks volumes to us because its all we had when we first got married. We joke now about not having two nickels to rub together, so we built it on love. The foundation has to be deeper than money, in fact, it has to be built on something that you control. Love conquers all! What profits a man to gain the world and lose his soul?! WHAT IS A QUOTE OR SCRIPTURE THAT YOU BOTH USE AS YOU FUNCTION IN PARTNERSHIP? Wow, There are so many. We both have our own individual quotes, but they are all work together for Gods glory. We improvise adapt and overcome any challenge because we were created for greatness. We are great apart because God created us as individuals first, but we are awesome together because we are committed to the same vision. We are unstoppable…I (We) can do all things through Christ who strengthens us! Phil. 4:13

APPRECIATION Y O U R E D U C AT I O N

SO YOU’VE GOT YOURSELF A WIFE; HOW ABOUT THAT? It is certain that you consider yourself favored. Wife Appreciation is recognized on the Third Sunday in September, but we urge all men not to wait until a specific day to show their beloved wife how much they are appreciated. To be honest, most men are clueless about Wife Appreciation Day (so are their wives), and consider themselves in good order when they remember The Big Important Days of celebration. WHEN SHOWING APPRECIATION, REMEMBER THAT THERE IS AN ART FORM TO DOING SO:

ALTERNATIVE!! Teach the Children Academy is a not-for-profit organization created to provide homeschooling to students who have problems in conventional classrooms due to hyperactivity, limited attention spans, and other often medically treated illnesses. These students and their families are provided an opportunity to receive comparable teaching in a smaller and more personable setting offering them a standard quality education at rates affordable to their own personal budgets. The purposes for which the organization is established are educational, spiritual, and charitable within the meaning of Section 501©3 of the Internal Revenue Code.

YOUR adjustFOCUS

At some point, we (assuming that I’m not the only one) have been guilty of only exercising what’s instructed in verse 6. Even in carrying everything to God in prayer, have you ever forgotten about the part that says be anxious for nothing, and to do so with thanksgiving? Did it ever occur to you that the scripture says the peace of God will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus, instead of you receiving patience? How do we overlook the fact that the scripture says …with thanksgiving, because whatever we ask in His name, He will do, so that God will be glorified? Perhaps our greatest challenge is verse 8. What do you focus on – negative possibilities or the certainty of God’s promises? Maybe there was a slight oversight of the scripture where it said these do, and you’ve become frustrated because you’ve seen the things that God has promised and revealed to you, but you’re paralyzed by inactivity. In our conversation, I was telling James that I still remember what he told me years ago. At the time I was very frustrated with my career. A few years earlier, I was in the process of deciding whether to leave my career field or stay. Either way, I told God that I was willing to be used, but I needed peace with the decision. For a while I was confident with where I was, despite the challenges. Wouldn’t you guess that when my patience grew thin (after three years), I realized that I had God’s peace. During this time, James shared something with me that blessed me then, but is more profound today:

FOCUS ON MAKING A DIFFERENCE INSTEAD OF SEEING A DIFFERENCE. (Where does he get these one-liners?)

YOUR adjustFOCUS

6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. - PHILIPPIANS 4:6-9 NKJV

The understanding and comfort behind what he said to me: SHARPEN YOUR FOCUS: Discipline yourself to only see what God has revealed to you without allowing your vision to be blurred by current circumstances.

PAY ATTENTION TO THE TYPES OF SEEDS THAT YOU ARE PLANTING: Be careful to plant only seeds of faithfulness, good character, selfdiscipline, and love. When your harvest comes, what you planted multiplies greatly in return. Consequently, you have even more to carry into the following season. YOUR SUPPLIER IS HEAVENLY DEPOT: Verse 9 says, “the things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me…” Understand that all of the resources that you need are available to you. Your supplier has a place for you to get all of the seeds, tools and supplies, how-to guides, and experts that you can outsource that you will need to complete your work. The great thing is that the supply is infinite and it’s all backed with an absolute guarantee. Know that some weeds will grow as well. Be careful not to loose focus, and place your efforts on pulling up the weeds (distractions). If you do so, you may uproot the good seeds prior to the harvest. MATTHEW 13: 2430.

BE COMMITTED TO THE WORK: Continue doing the work necessary to reap a harvest, and be diligent in doing so. Let your labor be excellent, encompassing your whole heart (spirit), mind, and body, because your work is committed unto God and not man.

MIND YOUR OWN FIELDS: All seeds don’t produce at the same time or in the same manner. You can’t expect to see your corn sprouting at the same time or in the same quantity as someone else’s cabbage. If you do see someone else’s corn blooming, understand that the area and soil are different from your own.

BE CONTENT WHILE WAITING: Understand that you won’t see your harvest while planting your seeds. Have peace in knowing that God has already destined your harvest. Be careful to only give thanks during the process, so no complaining!

The harvest requires more work. Don’t be disillusioned in thinking that all of the work goes into sowing. In order to enjoy the harvest, you must work. More importantly, you must know what to do with the harvest when you get it.

Live life to the fullest, and focus on the positive. - Matt Cameron
