50,000 Smiling Faces, 100,000 Tapping Feet, A Lifetime of Memories! The Mann Center for the Performing Arts’ Education & Community Engagement Program is the region’s largest free education program, impacting more than 50,000 young people annually, and over 370,000 since 1997. Our Connecting Arts-N-Schools program offers city-wide schools a wide array of multicultural performances in music, theater, and dance. Making it possible for thousands of students the opportunity to experience the sights, sounds, and rhythms that celebrate the magic and richness of “live” performances – often for the very first time! To deepen the educational experience, The Judith Gitlin ArtsTeach @ The Mann programs present energetic participatory workshops. These workshops help students [Grades PK-12] to comprehend, retain and learn effectively by utilizing the arts to unscore lessons in other core subjects. Free transportation for these workshops are provided to all participants. Our Young People’s Concert Series presented five exceptional performances by professional, emerging and young artists on our mainstage, with a total audience of over 35,500 and more than 400 global performing artists.
Invite the young people in your life to travel the world without leaving Philadelphia! The Mann’s annual free Young People’s Concert Series plays a vital role in our community outreach, making high-quality and culturally diverse performing arts programs accesstible to all children in an informal atmosphere. Performances by professional and emerging artists offer our young people a chance to experience and be inspired by the talents of others their age!
