The most magical phrase in skiing right now is “private powder.” It refers to a privately owned ski mountain that offers very limited access, uncrowded slopes, no lift lines, untrammeled snow and maximum privilege. It’s just you, a friend or your family and acres of untracked snow, or in some cases perfectly groomed slopes.
