Welcome to the second edition of Bowfield News
Welcome to the second edition of Bowfield News. We’ve survived the Winter, and the Beast from the East challenged us to keep our hotel open. During this spell many members of our team walked to work, and one of them even arrived on a tractor! As we move into the lighter nights and better weather, we’ve got a spring in our step. As always, we’ve got lots to tell you about. In this edition you’ll read news of our events, including our annual 10k charity race, new gin-tasting event and monthly tribute nights. We’ve got plenty to keep you occupied. We’ll soon be celebrating the first birthday of our Plumpy Duck Restaurant, and we’ll be announcing more about this in the months to come. Remember our members receive an exclusive 20% discount when dining in The Plumpy Duck or relaxing in our AURA Health Spa. We hope you have been enjoying your new Tai Chi class. We introduced this class further to member requests. Please keep supporting our classes, and we always welcome your feedback and suggestions.

coming soon We’re gearing up for our new spring menu coming soon to The Plumpy Duck. There will be plenty of fresh seasonal produce being served and you can fully expect us t0 put our ‘plumpy spin’ on a few dishes. We’ve also got a few sweet ideas tucked under our wings when it comes to desserts... so expect something sweet and exciting over the next few weeks.

Soon to be one year old Would you believe our fledgling duckling is nearly one year old? Our birthday month is July and we’ll be cooking up some celebratory offers for this special occasion. Full of beans We’re delighted to inform you that we have chosen and carefully sourced a brand new coffee supplier. We regularly attend tasting courses whenever it comes to new products and produce available to the market. Once we sipped the Italian Aroma Coffee we knew we had to get these guys on board. So the next time you are in The Stables Bar or Plumpy Duck Restaurant, treat yourself to a lovely cappuccino or latte - you should even ask for a freshly baked scone too - we won’t tell... Focus on Fitness It’s been great to see so many of our members over the past few winter months working out and getting involved in our monthly gym challenges. We really welcome any ideas you’d like to see in and around our facilities or even if you would like a freshen up on how to use the equipment, our leisure team are always on hand to help out and assist. We’re hoping to get more numbers at our boot-camp that takes place every Saturday morning. It’s great to get out in the fresh air to enjoy some exercise and our leisure team love nothing more than pushing our members to

‘WOMEN V CANCER’

Thank you so much for your continued support and especially for our amazing 6 hour spinathon for ‘woman v cancer’. Sunday 4th March saw our Leisure Team and members getting their spin on for a super 6 hours to raise money for a fantastic cause. Our total was £2,400 which is unbelievable - so a massive ‘thank you’ to everyone that took part. The Spin Studio was really buzzing and it made all the pain truly worth it. The event was organised by two of our members and we thank you once again for showing your support. Stay tuned for more future charity events.

Charity News This year the Manorview Group are also supporting some other amazing organisations, and we are running the London Marathon for two great children’s charities. Our Manorview MD, Steve Graham, and our Head of Procurement Steve Buckley, are running for CHAS (Children’s Hospices Across Scotland) and When You Wish Upon a Star (Scotland). We have £6,000 to raise, which will be split between the two charities. There’s more information about this challenge on our Virgin Money page. The London Marathon takes place on Sunday 22nd April 2018. CLICK TO MAKE A DONATION
Bowfield Annual 10k Race Our annual 10k race is on Sunday 24th June. Last year we donated £1,500 to St Vincent’s Hospice, and we’re proud to support this very worthwhile local charity.
Our 10k is open to everyone. It’s a beautiful countryside route which starts and finishes on our front door and takes in lots of glorious scenery.
This year we’d love to surpass that figure and we’re calling on you help us with this great event.
If you’re not confident enough in your running ability – our leisure team will offer guidance. And you don’t have to run – there is a walking option too.
