So I decided to save all those wonderful memories spending hours and hours in a photo kiosk, editing and reprinting the old black-and-white prints.â€? This was the introduction of young Sri Lankan Canadian Meera Sulaiman to photography, EXW WRGD\ KHU JRDO LQ WKLV ÂżHOG LQYROYHV KHU tremendous love of nature and animals in the wild, captured by the magic of life. Thanks to her natural gift of being able to perceive and soulfully appreciate animals, Meera Sulaiman created her project, “Whispers of Animals and Childrenâ€?, which is so incredibly moving. “I love surrounding myself with animals and children who are the best teachers of nature. Both are capable of transmitting joy, purity and innocence and there seem to be clear parallels between their worlds. $OO WKLV , ÂżQG WUHPHQGRXVO\ IDVFLQDWLQJ and the series was born as a result of my exploration through photography of this special tie between two such closely linked realities which can even be perceived in a FRQÂżQHG HQYLURQPHQW VXFK DV D ]RR RU SXEOLF areas.â€? Between animals and human “cubsâ€?, no special language is required to communicate. All it takes is a glance, a spontaneous gesture, a sign to establish a connection. Meera Sulaiman traveled and observed

various situations in order to offer us emotional experiences that range from tenderness to melancholy. Imperceptible moments visible to the naked eye and charged with feeling, sometimes from the point-of-view of the animals, sometimes that of the children, merged into a single photo. Adults who ironically often have trouble communicating despite the fact they speak the same language, can admire all this nonetheless thanks to the universal language of art. Meera Sulaiman will continue to use the power of image to help make people aware of and care about protecting our natural world she loves. It is thanks to the magical power of photography that this young, enterprising London photographer provides these perfectly realistic mechanical creatures with a soul. I began to photograph from another point of view, in an attempt to combine the ‘romance’ and ‘brutality’ of creating a self-portrait.â€? Using her Mamiya RZ67 medium format camera, Luisa Whitton draws on the classical tenets of portraiture, including the pose, framing and lighting of the subject, but she also makes use of her innate artistic sense to capture the true essence of the robots and give them a human heart.
