WE NEED WORK: Part of the five-thousand people who marched to the PRASA-Gibela Factory Centre in Dunnotar on March 2. The plant was officially opened two days later.

ON Wednesday (02 March); about 5000 people who came from KwaThema, Dunnotar and surrounding areas, marched from Dunnotar clinic to (PRASA) Gibela Railway Construction site – a seven kilometer distance that took four hours to cover. The group was led by Miles Bhudu of the South African Prisoners Organisation (SAPO) and members of Members of the Unemployment People’s Co-Operative Federation of South Africa (UPCF-SA) and the Greater Nigel United People’s Parliament (GRENUPP).

According to the marchers, the purpose of the march was to present a memorandum to Gibela Construction Centre management in which they demand that people to be employed for the project must be local people and not anyone from outside their communities. Although the job-seeking marchers did not apply to obtain permission to embark on this march, the law enforcers afforded them a safe and smooth passage throughout because they were well-behaved and orderly. After handing over the memorandum

to Gibela Construction Centre management, submitting just under fivethousand CVs and giving the management of Gibela one week to respond, the marchers dispersed peacefully. The 72 hectare plant, valued at approximately R1 billion based at Dunnottar, in the Ekurhuleni Municipality. The SOD turning event was held on the 4th, two day after the protest. Approximately 30 hectares have been reserved for a Supplier Park. This will house all the suppliers to the main manufacturing plant which are made up of SMMEs specialising in

various areas of rail-related manufacturing. Within the next ten years, the Supplier Park will become a Centre of Excellence for Train Manufacturing. The main benefs to the affected community are that 1500 people will be employed at the plant. About 19 500 people will receive rail-related training at the on-site facilities skilling them to qualify for work in the rail industry. SEE PAGE 5 for the story on the sod turning ceremony of the construction.

RELIGION IS COMING TO TAKE OVER PARLIAMENT! Mapepeza Newspaper

“JESUS CHRIST HAS COME TO HEAL MZANSI’S MORAL DECAY” – REV. ROJIE SPEAKS EXCLUSIVELY TO MAPEPEZA!

A

s Secretary-General of the ANC, Gwede Mantashe has limited powers in the administration of the country’s political affairs. The role of becoming the Chief-Whip of the ruling party in Parliament is a fitting position for the struggle veteran. Mantashe’s deputy in command, Jessie Duarte should be promoted to the ANC’s general secretary seat. The promotion of equality amongst the top ranks of the political structures, by ensuring the female leadership is embraced, can pave the way for moral regeneration. When Nkosazana Dhlamini-Zuma’s term as AU Commission Chairperson has come to pass, she must return to South Africa to take over as speaker of Parliament. Even though some have looked at her as the next president, another worthy candidate has proven she can lead the country democratic state.

DIPALESENG Local Municipality has seen a lot of changes recently especially in the political leadership space. This started when the former Executive Mayor, Cllr Sarah N Nhlapo and former Speaker, Cllr Phindile R Thenjekwayo requested to be released of their duties by rendering resignations both with immediate effect during a council sitting on the 18th February, 2016. At the same sitting, Cllr Molato D Khanye who was then a Member of Mayoral Committee was elected as the new Executive Mayor to take over the reins. Attempts to normalize the situation at the institution are slowly taking shape with the recent appointment of individuals to fill the vacant positions within the council. Cllr Mafunda L Makhubu was elected as the Speaker of council and the two Members of Mayoral Committee are Cllr Didile S Sithole and Cllr Ahmed N Carrim. These two councilors will be liable to assist the Executive Mayor with the execution of duties pertaining to the daily operations of the institution.

Call or SMS us on 078 221 8002

The joint-leadership of Mantashe (as Chief Whip), Mbete (President), Duarte (Secretary General), Dlamini-Zuma (Speaker) and Ramaphosa (President in waiting); is a wellthought and balanced solution to ensure the people can trust their leaders and ultimately, their Government.

Deputy President of ANC and South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa has been doing a good job, showing his superior diplomacy skills in relations across the African continent and around the World. This will only complement Ramaphosa’s future reign as head of state when he can let the former deputy president Baleka Mbete to take the highest position of becoming President.

Time has now come for the Lord Jesus Christ to take over politics in this country. I have developed a training programme for all politicians to join in. Training in Politics and Religion is necessary and important for all political parties. I invite all local, regional, provincial and national politicians and leaders to come and get this valuable education. This is to ensure that as politicians and government officials can really put people first

A challenge to the champions of our democratic South Africa, the ANC is this: Current speaker of Parliament, Baleka Mbete is eligible to become the Head of State, soon after President Zuma’s term has ended. As former deputy president under Kgalema Motlanthe’s term of office and as Parliament’s presiding officer, Mbete has displayed her leadership ability to be a well-respected and uncompromisingly-determined official.

TRAIN FACTORY BUILT FOR SOUTH AFRICA!

Minister Dipuo Peters (left) leading the sod turning ceremony, joined by the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Mzwandile Masina, MEC for Transport in the Free State province Butana Kompela, MEC for Transport in Gauteng Dr Ismail Vadi, MMC for Economic Development in Ekurhuleni Cllr Thumbu Mahlangu alongside the Ekurhuleni Executive Mayor Cllr Mondli Gungubele and the Gauteng Speaker Ntombi Mekgwe at the PRASA GIBELA train plant in Dunnotar on March 4.

Before congratulating the incumbents, the Executive Mayor reiterated the municipality’s vision which is to “Provide quality affordable service and good governance”. He went on to state that sustainability, integrated development, equitable access to basic services and public facilities and efficient and effective delivery of services are the overarching principles that this vision of ours is based on.

ON Friday, March 4, the Minister of Transport Dipuo Peters supported the sod-turning event aimed at kick-starting the construction works for the planned state-of-the-art passenger train manufacturing plant. “The start of construction for this brand new stateof-the-art manufacturing plant is a great victory for government policy and its focus in supporting and growing our country’s economy. Localisation, through DTI’s IPAP 2 initiative has not only proven to be a viable tool in ensuring that companies permanently invest in South Africa, it has also proven that tangible job and training opportunities can be created for our people. This is fundamental as we move towards industrialisation and the revival of the rail as an industry” Said Minister Dipuo Peters.

Cllr Molato D Khanye, concluded by saying “Our collective efforts, extensive experience, political understanding, wisdom and persistent commitment are rather significant aspects which I strongly feel we jointly require as we continue in our endeavor of servicing the community of Dipaleseng while ensuring this institution is not only functional but in an effective and efficient manner”.

The 72-hectare factory valued at approximately R1 billion is based at Dunnottar, in the City of Ekurhuleni, will enable the new trains to be manufactured and maintained locally with only the first 20 sets manufactured in Brazil. PRASA will also see the manufacturing of components for the new trains manufactured at the plant which has a capacity to manufacture a total of 580 trains or 3480 coaches, making it one of the

Several kilometres of rail network including 1.2 kilometres of dynamic test track have also been included in the plant design in order to test complete test train sets at speeds of up to 132 kilometres per hour which is on par with international testing facilities. Ekurhuleni Executive Mayor Cllr Mondli Gungubele expressed his pleasure at the commencement of the mega project. “The establishment of this plant is a great milestone for the City. Zoning such a big space of land for such an initiative gives one a sense of relief knowing that it is for the benefit of our people. The job opportunity projections and the economic boost that will be brought about by the existence of this plant in our City speaks volumes,” said Cllr Gungubele. The PRASA-Gibela plant will see approximately 1 500 people permanently employed, while an anticipated 19 500 people will receive rail-related training at the plant allowing them to find work within the rail industry. Additionally, approximately 30 hectares have been reserved for a Supplier Park. for SMMEs specialising in various areas of railrelated manufacturing.

On March 4, Lindokuhle Kubeka together with the Bongiwe Qhinebe, were given a exclusive live on-air interview at Karabo fm in Sasolburg, Sedibeng. The interview was to discussion on the origins and core objectives of the Lindokuhle Foundation. They were also talked about their next venture the project that they are about to initiate next within the community of Ratanda. Their next project is called “I AM THE VOICE”, a public-speaking competition for all primary schools within the community of Ratanda. The event is scheduled for Saturday, 19 March 2016, from 10 a.m. at the Ratanda Old Hall. The topic for the competition is: WHAT RIGHTS SHOULD A CHILD HAVE AND WHY? Rules: All participants must wear the school uniform from their respective schools. Each speaker is given three minutes to present their arguments and motivations.

If your reason is because you want to realize a dream for which you have a vision or purpose and you have a product or service that fills a gap or need in the market and launching this product or service will give personal satisfaction first as well as an income, then you might have a recipe for success. Whatever your reason for starting or going into a business might be, it is clear that there will be risk and that you will need to evaluate yourself, your own situation and the type of business you wish to go into very carefully. Each type of business requires a particular type of person and it costs money. How does it work? You must be clear about the reasons for wanting to go into business and then you must be prepared to take the plunge. Ask yourself the following ‘killer’ question: 1.Do you want to do what the business idea suggests? Any skill or knowledge that helps you create value, market, sell, deliver value, or manage finances is economically valuable or money-making. You must find a role that fits in with your doing skills (wherein your passion, talent, skill, experience, aptitude, work habits and interest) fit or people (partners, management and employees) who have the doing skills you don’t have. Your doing skills might encompass being able to: • drive • deliver/distribute • clean • cater • design • invent • repair • entertain • investigate • research • buy • sell • import • advise • manage / consult Not every skill or area of knowledge is economically valuable, and that’s okay—there are many things worth pursuing for the sake of relaxation or enjoyment alone. We call that your hobbies. In closing, I leave with words by famous American novelist, Mark Twain, who said: “Don’t go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing, it was here first!” TALK TO THA BUSINESSMAN What are your views and comments on this week’s column?Share your comments on Facebook or email info@mapepezamedia.co.za

“REGISTER SO WE CAN HELP YOU WIN!” THE LESEDI SPORTS COUNCIL HOSTS WORKSHIP TO STRENGTHEN ALL SPORTS CODES !

• Schools must have sports included in the curriculum of every child, because an active body ensures a healthy and active mind. • Boost the “Sports on Wednesday” programme in all Lesedi schools to encourage participation by community stakeholders. • Having the sectors of the Lesedi economy, including the public and private sectors to contribute towards providing sponsorship opportunities endorsed by LSC. • Monitoring of teams and federations in sports to make sure that no negative influences within these structures does not harm the talent of local players or their ability to grow further. This has been seen in the behaviour of some coaches in the LLFA, or Lesedi Local Football Association, where children pick up the negative habits of older unsupervised players. • An appeal from the LLPA (local Pool association) to the LSC to mediate the relations between the federations and their affiliating teams. In emphasis, to become part of the internal support structure for organizations responsible for each sport code.

The people representing different sporting codes attended the Administrators Workshop to learn how their teams and federations can become compliant and registered.
