3D-EFFECTS ON GLASS
WITH THE MARABU HIGH BUILD VARNISH MARA SHAPE DUV-HBV
The Mara Shape DUV-HBV is a high built varnish specially developed for the decoration of haptic structural effects, especially on glass. The precise print allows for intricate and very elegant designs on glass bodies in the form of a flacon, drinking glass or beverage bottle. The use of
precision varnishing allows for individual and personalised haptic decoration of glass without the need for complex moulds as used in the embossing process. A combination of visual and haptic effects is also possible.

PROTECTING PRINTED SUBSTRATES
Liquid coatings were originally designed to protect printed substrates from chemical or mechanical damage. But they can be put to many other uses. Marabu offers the UV-curable technology MaraShield UV. The concept is mainly based on three pillars:
1. Primer
UV inkjet inks often fail to adhere properly to challenging substrates, such as glass or polypropylene. We use an evenly-applied primer as a bonding layer.
INKJET INKS,
SOLVENT-BASED, UV-CURABLE AND WATERBASED
Marabu offers combinations of inkjet inks, primers, and liquid coatings for users and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
Our goal is to develop the best possible ink for the corresponding inkjet printhead – leveraging our specialist knowledge as an ink manufacturer and our deep understanding of the specific technological demands of inkjet printing. Solvent-based, UV-curable and waterbased inkjet inks – for flexible, rigid and textile substrates, and formats ranging from wide to super wide: With Marabu you will find the right solution for almost any task, and any printer type.
PLUG AND PRINT
High quality and improved performance with simultaneous reduction of production cost
Complete colour range (partially also orange and green)
Professional support and assistance from our team of application engineers
2. Finishing and Protection
Easy ink changeover Development and production under the same strict tolerances as OEM printing inks (Made in Germany)
Straightforward compatibility (available in all common refill systems such as cartridges, bags, bottles)
High resistance to abrasion, chemicals, harmful UV rays, or even graffiti: Mara Shield liquid coatings have passed numerous certified tests with flying colours.
3. Colouring
Liquid coating is suitable for colouring large glass surfaces especially for interior decorating. Kitchen and furniture manufacturers can choose from a wide variety of shades.

WE SUPPORT CLIMATE PROJECTS TO OFFSET UNAVOIDABLE CO2 EMISSIONS
With carefully selected climate protection projects, Marabu is dedicated to actively helping to create a more balanced world. They save greenhouse gas emissions and support sustainable development on site. In this way, Marabu can effectively offset unavoidable C02 emissions.
Strict exclusion list for hazardous materials goes beyond the EuPIA list
REDUCTION OF CO2 EMISSIONS BY 2032
Prioritizing water-based systems and the use of renewable materials
Focus on energy-efficient production and implementation of effective waste management
Scope 1 Marabu is aiming for a reduction of 42 percent by connecting the company to the district heating network in Tamm in the near future. In addition, the waste gas purification plant is being renovated, which will lead to higher efficiency and lower consumption.
Scope 2 There is no CO2 savings potential at Marabu, as we have been purchasing green electricity at the Tamm and Bietigheim sites since 2007. However, electricity consumption is reduced through the continuous renewal of the machinery.
Scope 3 Marabu aims to reduce air transport and switch packaging to recycled materials, for example, to save a total of 19 percent of emissions.
