DC-AC Inverters

Samlex offers a wide range of DC to AC power inverter products that will provide reliable AC power from your RV, boat, automobile, solar system, or stand-alone battery. Power inverters convert DC voltage provided by a 12, 24 or 48 volt battery into AC current, similar to the current provided through a household electrical outlet. Pure Sinewave Inverters PST-series Pure sine wave voltage inverters provide clean, stable power for computers, radio equipment, home theatre, stereo, marine equipment and other applications that are sensitive to AC voltage irregularity. All units come with a cigarette lighter plug. Features include overload protection, low battery alarm / shut down, low idle power draw of less than 0.5 Amps to 1 Amps. AC power is available from a single standard VDE European outlet accessible on the front panel.

Pure Sinewave Inverters AJ-series The “AJ� Series pure sine wave inverters is designed for heavy duty commercial and industrial applications, is microprocessor controlled, CE & LVD compliant and is certified to ECE-R 10 norm. Low profile high density designed power inverter with an advanced microprocessor design, very low stand by current and full protections. The output voltage of these Pure Sine Wave inverters has a wave-form just like utility power which allows for the operation of sensitive electronic loads in RVs, boats, cottages and vehicles, such as forklifts (Model AJ 400-48). Total harmonic distortion is less than 5%.

3-stage Automatic Battery Charger SEC-1215E/SEC-1230E/SEC-1245E/SEC-1260E/SEC-1280E (for 12 V batteries) SEC-2415E/SEC-2425E and SEC2440E (for 24 V batteries) are high current, 3 Stage Chargers that deliver 15 A, 30 A, 45 A, 60 A, 80 A, 15 A, 25 A and 40 A respectively for almost 75% to 80% of the charging cycle ensuring a very fast, safe and complete charging of lead acid batteries. The nomenclature “ I Uo U” is a DIN nomenclature and signifies the 3 charging stages – I for constant current Bulk Charge Stage 1, Uo for constant over voltage Absorption / Boost Stage 2 and U for constant voltage Float / Maintenance Stage 3 ( under DIN specification, voltage is designated “U” and current is designated “I”. The subscript “o” in “Uo” signifies over voltage). These advanced fully automatic three-stage battery chargers are ideal for charging all types of 12 Volt lead-acid batteries. By means of a DIP switch setting, conversion to a two-stage algorithm is possible to charge batteries connected to a DC load (DC UPS). The units can also be used as a DC Power Supply. Features include overload and short-circuit protection. Also allows charging of up-to 3 separate battery banks.

Battery Chargers

Battery Separator These separators are designed for use in situations where 2 batteries are used; for example in boats, campervans and caravans. The Battery separator is a microprocessor controlled heavy duty relay that automatically connects batteries in parallel when one of them has reached a present voltage for at least 5 seconds (13,2V/26,4V) (indicating that the battery is being charged), and disconnects when the voltage decreases below that level for at least 5 seconds (12,8V/25,6V) (indicating that one or more batteries are being discharged). The Battery Separator is an excellent alternative to a battery isolator. The main feature is that there is virtually no voltage loss so that the output voltage of alternators or battery chargers does not need to be increased. Another advantage is that the Battery Separator can be mounted without changing the existing circuit. That makes the Battery Separator not only very easy to install, but it is sometimes the only option because some alternators do not accept a Battery Isolator between itself and the battery.

Battery Chargers

Battery Isolator The Samlex diode battery isolator allows simultaneous charging of two or more batteries from one alternator, without connecting the batteries together. It can be used in boats, recreation vehicles, trucks etc. where apart from a starter battery also one or two accessory batteries are present. The battery isolator has an extremely low voltage drop because of the use of Schottky diodes; at low current the voltage drop is approximately 0,3V and at the rated output approximately 0,45V. All models are fitted with a compensation diode that can be used to slightly increase the output voltage of the alternator; this compensates for the voltage drop from the diodes inside the isolator at the output.

Battery Back-up Module This module can be connected to a DC power supply to supply battery back-up power to your equipment in the event of an AC source power failure. On restoration of AC power the battery back-up module regulates output current and voltage to recharge the batteries.

Power Supplies

High Current DC Rackmount Power Supply Up to 80 Amps. Expandable switching power supplies with N+1 redundancy. High current power supplies come with built-in battery back-up, remote monitoring connections and rack-mount or wall mount cabinets. Output power can be expanded in phases of 20 amps (up-to 100 Amps max.). An external battery can be connected for back-up and a section of the output current (up-to 8 amps) is diverted to charge the batteries when in state of discharge using the built-in battery back-up module. The battery supplies the DC load on loss of utility power.
