At Shrewsbury Academy we are extremely proud of our extensive links with the surrounding primary schools. Each year we offer a rich and extensive programme of activities that allow primary school students to extend their learning and familiarise themselves with life at SA.

Socially and educationally, the change from Year 6 to 7 can seem daunting; we make every effort to ensure this transition is as smooth and easy as possible. Each year we are proud of the positive feedback we receive from parents and students.

Transition programme for Class of 2028

March: Secondary places are announced April: Welcome event held at Shrewsbury Academy Initial contact made with Primary Schools May: Mrs Jones and Mrs Everest will visit every student We will meet with every Year 6 teacher Mrs Richmond (SENDCo) will liaise from an SEND view June: Transition mornings for students needing additional support

July: Transition Days x 2 for all students Parental evening

September: First Day
