...the beginning of the LOFT idea! A house for a sculptor artist, focused in recycling spaces under the idea of “work and live” concept. The presentation of the project consited in a collective exposition.

* 2007

This project consists in the development of a community centre for social integration, located in the suburbs of Santiago, Chile. The managment and finance is based on the sponsorship of an university located in the same district. ... the idea

/ / / / / / / / / CEUAI COMMUNITY CENTRE

“... the sorroundings as the project idea” The project is focused on a turisct proposal in the chilean desert. In this case it’s an hostel for express users.

STGO 2020 / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / /

The North-South highway presents itself as a limit and as problem, that by consecuence has generated two totally different districts in the centre of Santiago. Clearing the occlusion (the limit) enables the emergence of potencial axis; affords the opportunity to integrate these heretofore isolate districts; it re-conects both sides the west and the east; and lays the ground for a ner urban planification not just on shopping, tourism or nostalgia, but the realities of the XXI century urban life.

The idea is set. Where do we start?

“[..]The theme of this contest is focused in architectonic-pedagogic proyects, based on the principles of the national educational reform, that are centred in educational spaces for pre school and kindergarden kids”

Our project is located in the Andes Mountain, in a small town in the north of Chile. The idea is to generate a kindergarden focused in “experimental learning” and auto-construction of this, with hay stacks.

* 2009

VIRUS R-GiH starts with the idea that nowadays our cities are ill, and we have to think and re-think in how to cure them. Santiago [Chile] is one of the cities with the highest levels of air contamination [smog] in Latin America; this is caused mainly by its geographic situation. In the other hand, Santiago shows a segregated social morphology, were the lower social stratum is segregated and lives in the borderlines of the city [marginal districts], lacking overall, of urban identity [public interaction & infrastructure]. The main urban component of a city, is it’s inhabitants [iH], today are the most affected with the city’s degeneration and this is how the concept of VIRUS materializes, being the inhabitant the main component. ¿What is a VIRUS R-GiH? It’s an “architectural system” able to re-generate and sustain itself by invading and interacting with a specific urban situation [host] and this way decontaminate [smog] the city. This virus structures itself through out 3 components; the inhabitant interaction [ iH ] + green factor [ G ] + an organic recycling system [ R ].

/ / / / / / URBAN BOX instant house contest The idea? a temporal self housing system, based on boxes, not just by it’s characteristics, but also it’s principal material [CARDBOARD]. This experimental strategy, mostly has a child game, is our Eco-urban idea of regenerating the urban systems. The idea of a cardboard residential unit, that has a temporary nature that is directly related to the BOX cycle of use and leave, plus a “build it your self” system, is our proposal for a new housing lifestyle.

e-BOX is a way of re-thinking the cardboard and the module as a temporal solution for emergencies, without generating a definite project for these situations. Why the BOX? Today and always the cardboard box has been quite usefull in our daily lifes, we use them, move them, we keep things in it, take out things from it, play, recycle it, renew it, etc... The cardboard has a life cycle > You use it - leave it - re use it - you leave it again and we use it again. They are also modular, transportable, recyclable, light, self-structured and easy construction. What is e-BOX? It’s a concept of a temporal emergency cardboard module. This experimental strategy is based on a “Build it yourself” cardboard structure that doesn’t need nails or glue, just the union between each piece, and it’s covered with an impermeable PVC skin that protects the structure assuring it’s durability. The idea of a cardboard module that has a limited life cycle, of use - leave and recycle, is the base of our temporal module for emergency strategy.

PUBLIC - PRIVATE PUBLIC SPACE IN THE CARMEL?

TEMPORARY IMPROVISED USE OF OCCUPATION PUBLIC SPACE Public space is mobile, private space is static. Public space is dispersed, private space is concentrated. Public space is empty: it is imagination. Private space is full: it is objects and memories. Public space is indeterminate. Private space is functional. Public space is information. Private space is opinion. Public space is unstably balanced. Private space is of necessity stable.

There are other spaces which are neither public not private but both at once: these are

the collective spaces.

TALLER ARQUITECTURA I

TALLER ARQUITECTURA

EXPOSICIÓN PROYECTOS EN CARTÓN TALLER I - Patio Cafeteria

Graphic design and edition of a recopilation of the best projects and activities in a year of the students of the architecture faculty of Universidad Mayor. 60% LOADING

Marco Beovic - Carolina Agliati Profesores de Taller I

PROYECTO 1 / V I V I E N D A U N I FA M I L I A R

P1 VIVIENDA EN TONGOY

IV REGION - TONGOY
