Argentineans are called “The People of the Port”, the essence of their identity describes its history of cast away immigrants finding a new place they could call home. The port is the icon of their road to freedom, wonder, hospitality and generosity. Looking to embrace these qualities for animals, the tower is inspired in an Ark which docks in this waterfront symbolizing a place which affords protection, safety and the finding of a new habitat. Most zoos are based on a horizontal design, merging the animals’ artificial habitat with its surroundings resulting in a more liberating enclosed space. As for the Ark of the Port Vertical Zoo, the different habitats are distributed in a way in which each space opens to nature, by leaving the structure of the tower exposed, translating in an actual outdoor experience for both animals and humans in a series of terraces and ramps. In this way, the tower posses a bucolic expression that searches to promote in animals the feeling of belonging to their new shelter.

Vinyards resemble the patterns found in native Chilean textiles, one of the country’s most important folkloric mildstones. Just as the threads of these textiles weave the country’s identity, vineyards have become the interlacing force that adds a new layer of richness to Chile’s culture. Therefore, this project seeks the natural intervention of Cerro San Cristóbal into the urban fabric of Santiago, to combine and transform them into a hybrid building that responds positively to the city and the national park. The museum develops with the site’s slope, elevating most of its spaces as floating slabs that leave the ground below intact. They are supported by an exoskeleton that carries louvers that born from the ground and pull the natural environment into the museum, by creating a playful mix of outside-inside walkthroughs that make the visitors feel embraced by both wildlife and the city’s skyline. Starting the journey from the sinous wooden louvers that recall the landscape formed by vineyards; passing through the underground and upper exhibition spaces that mimic wine cellars; up to the wine tasting and skybar areas where the promenade ends with the actual finished product of wine.

Tasks Research, theory, concept design, Rhino 3d modeling and rendering, Lumion 3D The site exposes a very high volume of pedestrian flow. As a center of convergence, the city street grid coincidentally forms a triangle that symbolically represents the foundations of their society. Not far from philosophy, this triangle in the middle of Chinatown serves as a magnetic place where people from different backgrounds develop social interactions. To take advantage of this flow, the site is divided following the general natural flow of the pedestrians that cross this triangle and guiding borders are placed in order to enhance the social interaction even further, making it not just a trail that people momentarily pass by but also an inviting place where they can stay.

a luxury senior living community that provides a rich welcoming environment suitable to continous aging which allows residents to pursue a healthy and active lifestyle. The project seeks to create spaces that continue and improve the quality of life of its residents, prolong their ability of living independently, and provide a protected but not isolated habitation. The Club house and social functions are connected on the ground floor to the central garden court in order to create a sense of community. All the apartments have balconies that together with the cascading terraces and architectural strategies , provide articulation views and takes advantage of the environmental elements such as wind, sun and shadows. visitor to re-understand that the environment is the museum itself, so that everyone can spontaneously become a protector of the environment. Just as natural history develops simultaneously with the accumulation of rock formations so the fossils of history lay the foundation for the development of future civilizations. We use „rock formations“ to start thinking about the circulation and materiality of the building. The various exhibits then become the „fossils“ sealed in the building‘s rock formations.

The main programmatic elements of the museum complex, the exhibit space, and research, / education components, are arranged on both side of the west and east side of the site and front a large museum garden. These components are interconnected by a transparent bridge building that sets up an entry axis from the city to the river and forms a grand civic portal into the complex. The entry plaza to the museum is centered by a large oculus that allows light into the space and provides a dramatic multilevel entrance to the museum, either at ground level or the third level by taking sloped walkways up to a dramatic enclosed terrace overlooking the museum garden, which spreads out to give a panoramic view of the riverside park. The museum has several exterior terrace spaces that can be used for exhibit/ teaching spaces or just for recreational purposes such as dining. Large openings and roof openings create light courts, some for demonstration environments, filtering light into the deep floor plates and allowing for natural ventilation and breezes where appropriate.

San Francisco won’t have enough housing for people with very low income until 2030, and not enough for people with moderate income until 2045... Building denser housing or reusing abandoned spaces are possible solutions to this crisis. The project proposes a
flexible
design
that
enables
to
accomodate
different requirements from inhabitants. Building on a partnership between techonology, nature, and humanity,

Inclusive
Modular Building Yard aims to solve the housing crisis in San Francisco, and at the same time creates a replicable blueprint for other cities around the world. This system includes a community matchmaking app, a customizable set of self-built kit of parts, and a guideline for sustainable practices to transform undesireable spaces that would otherwise be abandoned in the city wasting its potential for affordable development. Based on an algorithm for urban analysis, the script constructs possible scenarios taking into account the context and the inhabitants’ needs. In this way, a seemingly modular system can be adapted to meet a community’s own identity due to its parametric nature and adapt organically to its surrounding and contrains.
