100 years on, we remember them Remembrance Day 2018 marked 100 years since the end of First World War. One hundred years ago – on November 11 1918, at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month – millions of men laid down their guns – this was Armistice Day and on Sunday locals came together at commemoration services across the region to remember our fallen heroes. PHOTOS P19
