Tablelands Business Excellence Awards
Tablelands Regional Council is inviting nominations for its Business Excellence Awards which recognise leaders, innovators and quiet achievers in the community. “The awards are a celebration of the business community’s contribution to the economic and social fabric of our region,” said Mayor Joe Paronella. “Not to mention the premier business event of the year!” Council is inviting high-quality nominations from individuals and businesses in five award categories – regional innovator, customer champion, best dressed business, employer of choice and sustainability contribution. Cr Paronella said it was a great way for owners and staff to critically assess their business performance, recognise their successes and set strategies for the future. The awards will be presented at the gala awards dinner at the end of Queensland Small Business Week on 2 June at the Atherton International Club. Nomination forms are on available online and are due by Friday 2 May 2018. Submit completed forms, two high quality images (jpg, png or tiff) and supporting documentation to info@trc.qld.gov or drop in a USB drive to any TRC Customer Service Centre or in the mail to PO Box 573, Atherton 4883
Days after it was announced that Kuranda Scenic Railway will be the feature of a BBC documentary, the iconic tourist destination was closed after recent rainfall left it with extensive damage. Recent rainfall has left the 34km track needing repairs to more than 50 locations – the worst damage it has seen in over 40 years. “Safety is our highest
Pulling together for injured rider When PBR bull rider Sam O’Connor was competing in central Queensland on New Year’s Eve, his life was changed forever. The popular cowboy was on the ground when the bull he was riding fell on him, bending him in half, crushing his T12 vertebrae leaving him paralysed. It’s been a long road since and three months later the 28 year old is still in a Brisbane hospital fighting hard to try and walk again. But in a sport where mateship is everything, the bull riding community has come together to do all they can to put the smile back on his face and raise some money to make his road to recovery easier. “I have organised a few bull rides now, but this one has by far exceeded all the others,” said friend and local rodeo announcer Locky Benstead. “Everyone has been so supportive.” Originally from Tully, Sam has spent a lot of time on the Tablelands and is well known on the local rodeo circuit. Desperate to help him get back on his feet, Mr Benstead is helping to organise what is penned to be one of the highest calibre
rodeos Mareeba has ever seen. “This event will set the benchmark for this year’s bull riding calendar,” he said. “The calibre of the competition is something Mareeba has never seen. That is simply because of who he is.” Sam has been a professional bull rider for six years and is highly regarded among his fellow competitors. It didn’t take much to convince them to get involved in the event which will be held in Biboohra on May 26. “The PBR will be held in Cairns on June 2 so all of the country’s top bull riders will be here for that,” said Mr Benstead. “So all the guys said we don’t care if we have to sleep in our cars for a week, we’re going to come up a week earlier for this.” The riders aren’t the only ones keen to take part and get involved. Over 50 businesses have also stepped forward and either offered to help or donated prizes for an on-the-night auction. Thousands are expected to attend the event, which will also feature all the live action on big screens, a DJ, a bar and local guys in the arena as protection athletes. $5000 prize money is
up for grabs in the Open bull ride. There will also be Novice and Junior bull rides and an U12 calf ride. Mr Benstead said 100 per cent of the profits will be going to Sam. “Sam is in rehab still,” he said. “They’ve got him standing and he is exceeding expectations with his
recovery, but it’s a long road ahead.” Mr Benstead said the bull riding community is not put off by Sam’s accident and instead now want to ‘ride for their mate’. “They know the risks and at the end of the day it’s like any sport, they do it because they love it,” he said.
“But it would have put a lot of things into perspective for them.” Slam’n 4 Sam will take place at Simmo’s Arena on Hume Road, Biboohra on May 26. Gates open at 3.30pm with the first buck out at 5pm. For more info head to slamin4sam on Facebook.
priority, and to ensure the safety of both our employees and our customers, the Range will remain closed until weather conditions improve and our crews are able to safely gain access to undertake thorough inspections and repairs,” said Queensland Rail CEO Nick Easy. “We understand the school holidays are an extremely popular time for
the KSR, but safety is paramount.” The railway is expected to remain closed until April 18. The announcement came shortly after Toursim Kuranda’s Kahlia Pepper convinced the BBC to include Kuranda in Michael Portillo’s BBC program Great Continental Railway Journeys. The BBC will film part
of the documentary on the Kuranda Scenic Railway heritage train. While in Kuranda, the crew will be following the rich history of the 1920s. They will then jump on the Skyrail and head back down to Cairns, narrating a story about conservation and preserving the rainforest on the way. “We are so excited to put Kuranda on the international stage and showcase
our rich heritage and tourist village,” Ms Pepper said. “Putting pieces of the past together showing how Kuranda came to be and where we are today, I think is really important. There is so much more to Kuranda than meets the eye.” Mareeba Shire Mayor Tom Gilmore said it was a real coup to draw the BBC to the area. “It’s wonderful news for
Kuranda and the Shire. “The travel documentary will no doubt encourage people from across the globe to come and visit Kuranda, boosting the tourism industry,” Cr Gilmore said. “We look forward to welcoming journalist Michael Portillo and the BBC crew to our unique and special part of the world later this month,” he concluded.

Kuranda marches against drug use
By Rebecca Wallis
Mareeba Shire mayor Tom Gilmore said Kuranda needed to “dig from the bottom up” to deal with its growing drug problem after a march was held last Friday to raise awareness of the issue. Around 50 people took to the streets chanting “cook rice, not ice” in a demonstration organised by local indigenous elder Manny Ross. Cr Gilmore spoke to a crowd of onlookers at Centenary Park in Kuranda after the march, making a passionate plea to locals to help fight the war on drugs. “I’m prepared to bet you there are people in this park that have knowledge of someone distributing ice in this community,” he said. “I don’t want you to go home feeling good that you’ve been part of a march, I want you to go home and pick up a telephone and ring Crimestoppers and tell them what you know. That is how this community can begin to
dig from the bottom up. “Let’s get those people out of this community with their appalling behaviour. If you know something it is incumbent on you to ring Crimestoppers today or walk up to the local policeman and tell him what you know.” Federal MP for Leichhardt Warren Entsch was equally as emotive on the issue, revealing that he was asked to intervene last year when his niece became addicted to ice in Brisbane. “It’s a very personal issue for me,” he said. “I understand the challenges. But the first big step is for communities to say we own this and we demand action and today we have all levels of government here, we have a broad range of the community here and to me that gives me absolute hope that we’re going to be able to do something here and that we can make a big difference for the Kuranda community.” Locals are calling for a community forum to extract knowledge from those
involved in the use of ice so they can better understand how to help them. State member for Barron River Craig Crawford said there was a no silver bullet solution. “Cooking, selling, distributing ice is no different to anything else, if you want to get rid of it you’ve got to stop the demand and the only way to stop the demand is to reduce the number of people using it,” he said. “In every family, in every business, in every house there is potentially somebody who is an ice user. What we need to target is why they’re using it and put together an action plan and then you can start reducing the numbers down.” Mr Ross has been fighting to get the community more help in dealing the drug for months. “We’re putting it out there so we can protect our community against this drug and make our youth in our towns aware of this drug,” he said. “Hopefully we will get some changes today and
some help from the government and hopefully some community forums down the track. “We have a problem here and it’s sad.” He said more funding for rehab programs would be a good start, a request that Mr Entsch said was a possibility. “We need somewhere where the individual can be safely accommodated for a period of at least a couple of weeks and it’s not something that could be done on a daily basis, it needs to be for a couple of weeks and that’s a challenge I had in Brisbane,” he said, of his own personal experience. “I know exactly what is needed in that regard as that is what helped my family member over the hump. “The other things is that support needs to be in the community because part of the rehab process is having family there. I’m not going to be telling the community what they should be doing, I want to hear what the community believes they need and then I will offer some personal direction on
what I found and between us I’m sure we’ll come up with some initiatives.” Mr Entsch said the plan going forward would be to take a bipartisan approach. “There’s a range of funding available for various mechanisms,” he said. “But it’s not just a federal thing. Here we have the mayor, the state member, this is a total bipartisan initiative, it is across all levels of government supporting a community that has said we’re just not prepared to cop this anymore.” Cr Gilmore said the march was the start of something positive. “This is a wonderful start and I hope it’s the beginning of a movement, not just in Kuranda but across the Tablelands and across the coastal strip,” he said. “A movement where we as a community identify those people who are doing these things to us and get rid of them out of our community. This is an important beginning for something that I believe will have a satisfactory ending.”
The Tableland’s reputation as the fruit bowl of northern Australia is under threat from the Queensland Government’s proposed vegetation management legislation. Mareeba District Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association president Joe Moro is urging growers and industry stakeholders to attend a public hearing in Cairns this Friday April 13. It is the final in a series of hearings being held in regional Queensland as part of the Government’s consultation over the proposed new laws which, the agricultural sector fears, will make it harder
to grow food. Mr Moro said reintroducing the legislation would come at the expense of growers who made up nearly half of the total number of land clearing approvals for high value agriculture (up to 5 February 2018). “It could potentially see them bogged down in bureaucracy for months on end to carry out routine vegetation management,” he said. The government is proposing to reinstate vegetation management controls repealed in 2013. The hearing will be held at the Pullman Reef Hotel Casino, 35 – 41 Wharf Street, Cairns.

Preschoolers learn foreign languages Kindy kids at QT’s in Mareeba are just some of the Tablelands children learning a second language this year, thanks to federal funding. The three and four year old’s at QT’s are learning Indonesian via an interactive app, which Leichardt MP Warren Entsch said is imperative to the children’s engagement and develop-
ment. “We know the positive impact learning a second language can have,” Mr Entsch said. “Our region is the gateway to Asia and to the world so it is great to see our youngsters being given the opportunity to learn a second language, something that will be extremely valuable for them later in life. The government com-
mitted $15.7 million to the Early Learning Languages Australia (ELLA) program. The program now includes nine languages, with the introduction of Hindi and Modern Greek this year, in addition to Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), French, Indonesian, Japanese, Italian, and Spanish. Other preschools on the Tablelands involved in the
scheme include Atherton Bluebird Early Learning Centre where the children are learning Italian, C&K Atherton Community Kindergarten where they are learning Japanese and C&K Dimbulah Community Kindergarten where they are learning Italian. “Hopefully this will be the start of a life-long interest in language learning for
Far North Queensland children while at the same time boosting their English and problem-solving skills,” said Mr Entsch. “The Federal Government has also provided 1,000 support grants of $500 since 2017 to contribute towards the purchase of tablet devices to support participation by preschools in disadvantaged areas.”

Flood damage bill soars at Billabong By Rebecca Wallis
Staff at Kuranda’s popular tourist venue, The Billabong, are still picking up the pieces from a March 26 weather event that has left the business closed, weddings cancelled and a damage bill of nearly $1million. Over 400mm of rain fell in the space of a few hours late on Monday, March 26 and into the early hours of the next morning. Owner Jake Pelling and Site Manager Sharky watched on in horror as the water which features so heavily as part of their aesthetic rose so quickly it was knee deep in the bar and restaurant. “It covered the deck, we said we should start turning power off because it looked like it was going to go much higher and it was instantaneous,” said Sharky. “And then we said let’s walk away, it’s dark, it’s dangerous, let’s come back in daylight, there’s nothing we can do.” Daylight revealed carnage across the venue – a ruined sewerage treatment plant and bore, no power and a new deck ruined. A landslide on Mount Haren Road also meant the venue was inaccessible for 72 hours. “The venue has progressed a lot recently,” said Sharky. “We’d done deck extensions, we were just going through a material change of use with the council and got sign off on everything and then Mother Nature said no and took it all away from us.” One of the biggest concerns now is the restaurant building that was hit so hard with a force of water, it is showing signs of having moved, meaning it could be condemned. “At the moment we’ve run into a stale mate,” said Sharky. “It’s been assessed and

there is a report that is saying the building is safe to use but it has shifted, it’s got signs of movement. The water has hit it with that much force the whole building has gone 20mm at the top. We’ll be able to trade in the mean-time but they’ll do another independent assessment and if they declare that the building’s integrity has been breached then we have to remove it and start again.” But nothing has been more gut-wrenching to the staff than having to call multiple brides-to-be and

tell them that their dream wedding will not be happening. “We’ve had to return deposits for three weddings so far and it looks like we’re going to have to do another two,” said Sharky. “Crying brides is the worst thing from this event. One was full exclusive hire of the venue and she only had eight days’ notice. Nearly every weekend was booked out. That’s the one that hurt the most.” In 25 years the owners have never seen such a destructive weather event like
this one. But they are magnanimous in defeat. “It’s life,” said Sharky. “There are people that have copped it worse in the community. In Kuranda there are people that have lost everything. We work in the rainforest, we work near water, we work in an isolated area and we offer a service that is above average. There is a certain amount of risk and you have to allow for it. Nobody could have allowed for what occurred here.” The business will be
closed for the foreseeable future until the sewerage treatment plant has been replaced first and foremost. “We’re talking to the insurance company and as soon as they give us approval we can open the camp ground, the quad biking etc to bring some money back in but until that happens we can’t do a thing,” said Sharky. “The VIP deck is completely gone – it was a full structure that was signed off and approved, ready to go for a function and it’s completely gone.”

Mount Carbine to get mobile coverage Mount Carbine residents can finally enter the 21st century later this year when a new mobile phone tower will be installed, improving their mobile phone coverage. Federal Leichhardt MP Warren Entsch announced the move last week in Cairns as part of the latest round of funding under the Mobile Black Spot Program.
He said Telstra and Optus would start construction within months with mobile phone towers to be installed at four locations across the Far North which are set to be switched on before the end of the year. The other locations include the Daintree/Cape Tribulation, Weipa and Wonga Beach. “The four new cover-
age areas will open new doors for local businesses and the community, enabling them to access the same mobile services as those in major cities,” Mr Entsch said. Mr Entsch said he would now start lobbying for an extension of the program to ensure other areas across Far North Queensland did not miss out.

A dream 30 years in the making has finally come to life with the first Tagalaka rangers commencing work on Littleton National Park, near Croydon, this week. Croydon locals Mark Owens, Johnny Miles and Ashley Klingenberg are the first indigenous rangers to work the country and their people could not be more proud. “We are so happy,” said Tagalaka elder Gladys Callope. “It’s finally happening and we are so proud.” After all it was Tagalaka elders, Jeanette Owens, Gladys Callope and Beverley Bowyang, who along with others had a vision to see their people protect, manage and work their traditional land. Run by the Tagalaka Aboriginal Corporation and hosted by Northern Gulf Resource Management Group, the project is funded by the Queensland Government’s Indigenous Land and Sea Program, and will now see them work alongside the Park Rangers on a daily basis. The three month program will have a strong focus on protecting and preserving cultural sites while

also completing bio diversity surveys on the Park. While only a three month program for the time being, it is still a huge step in what has been years in the making and after the initial three months there is hope that it will continue and therefore provide opportunities for generations to come. Chair of the Tagalaka Aboriginal Corporation Edmond Busch said this is our opportunity to get back into our country and to start to look after it again. Hoping that this program is successful and we get some long term funding for our Rangers which will then have a flow in effect in other employment opportunities
which are much needed for the Tagalaka people in Croydon. “It’s a very proud day, there are lots of emotions at the moment, but the best part about it is the opportunity to get back into the country and to start looking after things up there,” said Mr Busch. “We are back on the country and looking after it and preserving it for generations to come. They will learn firsthand experience every day and I am very confident that the rangers we have selected will get the job done.” The rangers are equally proud to commence their new roles within their local
community with all three stating how excited they are to be given this opportunity. Croydon born and bred Senior Ranger Mark Owens said, we can all benefit and learn a lot of this. The youngest of three, Junior Ranger Ashley Klingenberg had been waiting a long time for this to happen. “I always knew I wanted to be a part of it,” said Mr Klingenberg. In an emotional tribute by the new rangers, the elders were each presented with their very own Tagalaka Rangers cap to acknowledge their work over the years.

Workshop aims to allay concerns over HARPS By Rebecca Wallis
An information session being held today in Mareeba is aimed at giving local growers “facts from the horse’s mouth” about the Harmonised Australian Retailer Produce Scheme (HARPS). The aim of the scheme is to bring together legal and trade requirements regarding food safety developed by the major Australian chain stores such as Coles and Woolworths.
Mareeba Fruit and Vegetable Grower’s Association president Joe Moro said there has been a lot of concern in the community about the new requirements and what is involved. “Some growers are looking at it in a positive light and some aren’t happy,” he said. “It’s in its teething stage and a lot of work needs to be done.” Certification to a recognised base scheme (such as Freshcare, GLOBALG.A.P. or SQF) plus HARPS is now ac-
cepted by the five chain retailers, eliminating the need for duplication and unnecessary costs. “There’s been a lot of discussion in regards to HARPS and how it will be implemented across growers and this will be an opportunity to get the facts from the horse’s mouth,” said Mr Moro. “They’ll be able to answer the concerns that a number of growers have.” Mr Moro said it was a timely issue since the rockmelon listeria outbreak.
“If you’re dealing directly or through intermediaries with a retailer, you most likely have to meet the requirements,” he said. “Every producer is looking at it differently but the recent rockmelon incidence sheds light on the importance of food safety.” Mr Moro said the issue was causing ‘great concern’ among local growers which he had taken back to the scheme operators. The workshop runs from 12pm to 2pm at the Mareeba Leagues Club today.

who vanished when she was scarcely a teen. Now a young woman of 21 without any real focus or purpose, Lara navigates the chaotic streets of trendy East London as a bike courier, barely making the rent, and takes college courses, rarely making it to class. Determined to forge her own path, she refuses to take the reins of her father's global empire just as staunchly as she rejects the idea that he's truly gone. Advised to face the facts and move
forward after seven years without him, even Lara can't understand what drives her to finally solve the puzzle of his mysterious death. Going explicitly against his final wishes, she leaves everything she knows behind in search of her dad's last-known destination: a fabled tomb on a mythical island that might be somewhere off the coast of Japan. But her mission will not be an easy one; just reaching the island will be extremely treacherous.

YOUR RENTAL QUESTIONS ANSWERED
The Question: I received an Entry Notice in the mail today stating that I have a Routine Inspection tomorrow. Is this allowed? The Answer: Routine Inspections are carried out to ensure the property is well cared for and to check if there are any maintenance or health and safety issues. The Landlord or Agent must give tenants a minimum of 7 Days Notice to conduct a Routine Inspection, using an Entry Notice (Form 9). The Landlord or Agent needs to take into consideration the amount of time the letter will take in the post and add this to the 7 Days Notice required.
Contemporary design, perfect position OPEN HOME
There are times where the notice periods vary. For example, to carry out or inspect routine repairs or maintenance, 24 Hours Notice is required. These timeframes are indicated on the Entry Notice (Form 9). Routine Inspections cannot be carried out more than once every 3 months (unless the tenant agrees in writing). Have a rental question? Contact us via email or phone. We will select the most common question for next month’s edition.

Enter digits from 1 to 9 into the blank spaces. Every row must contain one of each digit. So must every column, as must every 3x3 square.
Ingredients 2½ cups lukewarm water 2 teaspoons Dry Yeast 5½ cups all purpose flour 1 tablespoon Kosher salt 10 cloves garlic, minced
Method 1. Fill a medium sized bowl with the water and sprinkle the yeast on top of it. Whisk the yeast until it’s dissolved. Add 3 cups of the flour and stir with a heavy spatula or wooden spoon until smooth. 2. Add the salt and then the remaining flour. Stir again until well combined. Dust a clean work surface with some flour and dump out the dough. Knead the dough dusting with more flour if things get sticky. 3. Once the dough is a round ball, place the dough back into the bowl. Cover the dough and let rise in a warm area for 2-3 hours or until doubled in size. Once the dough is ready, preheat your oven to 200 degrees or as hot as it can go if not that high. Place a pizza stone or a large upturned baking tray on the top shelf of the oven as it heats up. Dust it with a little of the corneal. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and punch the air out of it. Cut the dough into 4 pieces. 4. Using your finger tips press each piece of dough into an oval shape. Brush the dough with some olive oil and rub some minced garlic over the surface. 5. Sprinkle with the green onion and transfer to the pizza stone or baking tray. Bake in the oven for about 8-10 minutes, longer if you like it more crusty.

Huge turnout for boxing event Boxing winners from the Dimbulah event with organiser Wayne Bryde.
Over 200 people turned out to watch a full card of amateur boxing last month in Dimbulah. Boxers from Cairns, Townsville, Palm Island and Dimbulah travelled to the event on March 24 which saw some of the region’s best fighters pitted against eachother. Local boxers Drew Fenech, Stevo Philliot, Chevvy Tobin, Jennie Gogula, Akeam Brim, Akia Jose, George Anderson and Matthew Carroll all jumped in the boxing ring and had a fight. Former local boxer George Anderson won his bout against Chris Paulsen from Townsville who came out boxing but George controlled the fight with a barrage of heavy
hitting leading to a unanimous points win. George now has his eyes set on the Golden Gloves tournament in June held in Cairns. Cairns woman Shev Hanson and fighter from Hit Pit gym in Cairns stood up against local boxer Jennie Gogala. The winner out of this fight would face off against Dimbulah local Akia Jose for the main bout of the night. Jennie fought hard but heavy hitting punches from Shev stopped Jennie in the second round. “The main bout was a cracker of a fight with local girl Akia Jose and winner of bout three Shev Hanson standing toe to toe,” said event organizer Wayne Bryde from Bryde’s boxing gym in Mareeba.

“Akia fought with pride with the crowd going crazy. She went the distance with heavy hitting and great boxing but fell just short with the winnings going to Shev Hanson.” Mr Bryde said the highlight of the night was bout nine with local boxer Chevy Tobin going against Aussie champion Lewis Chadwick. “The crowd went crazy chanting ‘Chevy, Chevy, Chevy,’ and when the bell rang the two boxers came at each other at a 100 miles an hour resulting with the winner going to the Aussie champion,” he said. “But there was respect all around with Chevy taking on the champion.” Mareeba boy Mat-
thew Carroll also fought a well-schooled boxer from Cairns for the main junior bout resulting a win to the Cairns boxer Brendon East. “I would like to thank everyone who came and supported the boxing,” said Mr Bryde. “It was a great success and we will be holding another fight show called Boxers at War 3 on the July 28 in Dimbulah. “Also would like to thank Dimbulah Butchers for donating the meat tray, Jennie Gugula for donating a $50 gift voucher and also the Junction Hotel for their support, as well as the Lions Club for their support.” Mr Bryde also wanted to thank the crew that helped set up the event.
Trisha Spry with Michael Kaspowitz in Brisbane after she received her award.
Trisha wins major award By Rebecca Wallis
Mareeba’s female cricket fraternity were on top of the world last week after the announcement that the lady that kicked it all off for them had beat off stiff competition to become Queensland Cricket’s Volunteer of the Year. Trisha Spry singlehandedly pushed for the introduction of cricket aimed at women who did not have a background in the sport, making it more fun and social. She was inundated with requests from locals
wanting to take part and the annual ladies cup was recently named after her. Such has been its popularity, it garnered the attention of Cricket Far North (CFN) and on March 29 she was flown to Brisbane for the Cricket Queensland awards night where she beat 12 other nominees to the Volunteer of the Year award. “It was great to receive the accolade and have all my hard work recognised,” she said. “I was a little bit shocked! But as well as winning the award it was
great to meet all the other volunteers and chat to them about what they’re doing in their region.” Trisha’s son Ben Jones accompanied her to the awards at the Royal Exhibition Centre at the RNA Showgrounds. Trisha said it was a great opportunity to put Far North cricket on the map and showcase what the region has achieved. This Friday, April 13, Mareeba and District Cricket Club will be holding their presentation night. The fun kicks off at 5.30pm at Mareeba Race Course.
Tolga races in fine form
Beautiful weather was in store for racegoers at Morrow Park on Saturday for Atherton Turf Club’s latest meet. Trainers, jockeys, punters and owners lined the track to cheer home the winners including Jueun in New York (pictured) trained by Gordonvale race horse trainer Ralph Baker and ridden by Amanda Thomson.

Roosters’ Jack Willis heads to the line for his second try on Sunday.

A 24-6 win over Ivanhoes on Sunday has given the Atherton Roosters a perfect start to the 2018 Cairns District Rugby League premiership season. The Roosters out scored their opposition 5 tries to 1 and backed themselves with a huge defensive effort. Ivanhoes did score in the 18th minute but from there they were well contained by the new look Roosters outfit. Tries to Jack Willis and Reece Munster gave the Roosters a 10-6 lead at the break and one to winger Matty Baillie soon after the restart pushed the Roosters further in front. Munster and Willis both scored again in the second part of the contest to give the Roosters a impressive win. Roosters coach Graham Clark said it was a very positive start to the new season and highlighted the teams defensive effort. “We kept coming up with the tackles and this really frustrated Ivanhoes in the second part of the match,” he said. “It was a very hot Sunday afternoon but everyone kept going and pushed through.” Ivanhoes won the reserve grade over Atherton 24-10 while the Roosters took the colts points 18-0 ahead of Ivanhoes. This Sunday the Atherton Roosters play Brothers at Williams Park in Cairns.
