Project NEW ERA - "New Entrepreneurs in Rural Areas" is meant to tackle the issues of youth entrepreneurship in the context of rural development and youth unemployment.

Our main objectives: ·

to promote youth entrepreneurship

to motivate investment in rural areas

·

to provide for young leaders adequate tools for self-employment

·

to promote investment in rural areas

to promote youth self-employment

to emphasize the importance of active European citizenship

·

to promote inter-cultural dialogue

·

to share best practice of entrepreneurship

The project is meant to share the good practices of entrepreneurship through different workshops and presentation held by experts in the field in order to provide participants all the necessary tools for accomplishing the main objectives of the project.

With training course " NEW ERA", which will gather 31 participants from Croatia, Cyprus, Lithuania, Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain in the rural part of north-west Croatia, we would like to enrich the knowledge of youngsters regarding entrepreneurship as well as give them opportunity to express their opinion and improve their skills in the same field. On the other hand, we would like to raise awareness about the big gap between rural and urban areas because we considered that youngsters coming from rural areas are facing more difficulties in their daily life.

The methods would provide a mixture of theory and practice, sharing ad exchanging opinions, expertise and experiences in the field of entrepreneurship. Through efficient training courses and workshops, we expect the participants to receive useful knowledge in the field of youth entrepreneurship and rural development which they can later implement in their community. The activities implemented during the training course will guide and motivate the participants to put they into practice the skills and knowledge gained during the training course. We expect the participants to implement actions related to youth entrepreneurship in their own communities, especially in the rural areas.

The target group of the project, which are active youth from the rural areas, will be able to benefit from the project by receiving useful experience and information from the participants of the training course and local community. Overall, the impact of the project will be the providing of necessary tools for active youth in order to take initiative and contribute to the process of rural development through means of youth entrepreneurship.

The potential long term benefits will consist of improving the quality and quantity of youth entrepreneurship in the rural areas and a larger long term benefit will be the development of rural areas in general.

Republic of Croatia (Croatian: Republika Hrvatska) is a sovereign state at the crossroads of Central Europe, Southeast Europe, and the Mediterranean. Its capital city is Zagreb, which forms one of the country's primary subdivisions, along with the twenty counties. Croatia covers 56,594 square kilometres (21,851 square miles) and has diverse, mostly continental and Mediterranean climates. Croatia's Adriatic Sea coast contains more than a thousand islands. The country's population is 4.28 million, most of whom are Croats, with the most common religious denomination being Roman Catholicism.

City of Novi Marof is located on the border between the Croatian Zagorje and Prigorje, at the crossroads between the mountains Kalnika and IvanĹĄÄ?ica, at the intersection of important routes between Varazdin and Zagreb what was a beneficial effect on its development. In 1886 next to the village passes also railway line. Novi Marof is district in the County of VaraĹždin. Today city is the economic, transport, cultural and sporting and administrative center, with a number of public facilities of interest to the residents of the City and other gravitating settlements and their inhabitants. The town has a population of 14,000 inhabitants, few elementary schools and one high school.

How to get to Novi Marof (travel tips) Novi Marof is 60km from Zagreb (1hour by bus).

SELECTION OF PARTICIPANTS Should be done by each partner till 15th of March 2015. If you have more participants who wants to come, or you do not have enough participants applyed, please inform us a soon as possible, so we can solve this situation. Participants should be motivated for the project and ready to organize dissimination of the project in their countries (presentation of the project for the local youth).

PRACTICAL ISSUES Detailed practical infosheet for participants will follow three weeks before the training course. For the moment just specific features participants should be aware of: VENUE As we do not have in Novi Marof any hotel/hostel for 30 people, participants will stay in 2-3 local houses. Do not worry, all the basic conditions for living will be provided, and you'll have even more freedom then is usually in hotels and possibility to learn more about local culture.

FOOD Meals will be typical for Croatia, mostly they are based on meat, so please inform us on time about any kind of requestes regarding food (vegeterian, diet…) so we can prepare on time.

Prices Croatian official currency is Kuna (HRK) and currently 1€ is approximately 7,75 HRK. The best place to exchange your money is in the exchange offices – we have one in Novi Marof J, though you should change some amount in order to buy tickets upon landing in Zagreb. Also, you can withdraw money from the ATMs; in this case charges might be applied.

Some examples of the prices are: -
