College Applications

applying to college represent Storm King School, all application, records, recommendations, and other documents associated with the college search process must go through our College Counseling and Academic Offices. In order to coordinate all elements of the college search, we manage the process through the Naviance software system. We help all students establish a Naviance account. Parents also have access to view this account.

Examinations and College Applications

The College Counseling Office works with students to establish a College Board account to facilitate signing up for the PSAT, SAT, and AP Exams. It is important to maintain only one account with the College Board to ensure all tests scores are forwarded when needed.

All students in the 9th, 10th, and 11th grades take the PSAT each year in the fall.

All students are required to take the SAT 1 at least twice, typically in the spring of their 11th grade year and in the fall of their 12th grade year. Other dates are available for the SAT 1 and SAT 2. Students may also take the American College Test (ACT) if they wish.

All seniors must apply to at least two colleges, unless accepted to their first choice through early decision.
