Hi, nice to meet You Hi, my name is Margherita, nice to meet You! Born in Lecco (Italy) I’ve moved in Urbino to attend a BA degree in graphic design and visual communication at ISIA. During these three years I’ve been six months in Paris as exchange student attending ECV. Currently I’m studying in a MA degree program in communication Design at Designskolen Kolding in Denmark, working on the graduation project. As graphic designer I like combine and experiment with different medias, creating interesting and appealing images and layout. I believe visual communication and storytelling can be a tool to share meaningful stories and values. I used to develop a project starting from concepts and research, finding new strategic solutions. I’m interested to unfold project’s possibilities through multidisciplinary approaches, with a comprehensive overview, always keeping in mind the final user. I’m curious and motivated to learn something new. I like teamwork and fresh, smily openminded people.

Final project realized for the MA degree at Kolding Designskolen in Denmark. It is about communication and partially-sighted, blind people. It’s sound weird, but communication it is not just images... Project’s aim is to develop an enjoyable environmental experience for sighted people, through audible inputs, in order to create a dialog and smooth existing prejudices in the society. Personal motivation is to show how creative industries + research methodology are potential tools to improve individuals’ life.

MA FINAL PROJECT _ a r i a After researches, inquiries and observations to collect data and insights a system called aria has been design to create links between sighted and visually impaired people. aria is based on the idea to deliver melodies composed and produced by visually impaired people based on their feeling and perception of the surrounding environment. Workshops and music sessions have been organised to make people feeling engaged, test the concept and have fun!

A playfull visual identity has been designed to “give a face” at the system and promote it.
A stylized version of the original logotype has been designed to keep it recognizable even in small size, for example as icon of smartphone application.

The system’s logotype is an harmonic combination between curved lines which connect the glyphs of the word “aria” guiding its reading. Small dots have been added to recall the dots of the braille language.
MA FINAL PROJECT _ a r i a The system is working trought beacons technology; small bluethoot devices which transmit radio signals to different medias. An application for smartphone and a web page interfaces have been designed to communicate and explain the concept and its purpose.

Team project developed during a Semiology class. The project focus on the perception of gender in the fashion universe. The societal challenge has been faced through design methodology, clothes shops’ observations and short interviews. Different people’s target group have been involved in a workshop in order to collect more data end users feedbacks.
Brainstorming ideas and mapping insights have been the first step to develop a concept.

 Pictures show a moment of the workshop; through a pictures sorting activity it has been asked to the partecipants to classify some clothes items on different gender categories.

Normadism is a new concept defined as assignment for a class of trend forecasting. In teamwork we have done research to find a problem to challenge in the nowadays Danish society. The new trend would be a solution for companies to obtain a more dynamic organization allowing the employee to have more flexibility in their job routine.

Groasis is a service which provide an outdoor place for elderly people where to congregate for planned or unplanned social activities to face the loneliness. The concept is the results of a teamwork realized during a week workshop concerning Welfare Design. The design of the visual identity and campaign have been an individual task conceived for an exam.

Team project realized to find a solution at a societal challenge. In My Place focuses on how it might be possible to overcome the shock of entering and installing in a new place which new students and young travellers have to face frequently.
Projection of desires and needs of the interviewed students.
Researches about perceptions of new spaces, emotions and what makes the target group feeling “at home” have been the starting point of the concept development.
Inspired by the Piñata tradition an explosive solution has been designed to create a strong experience, and celebrate the new space!

Redesign of the visual identity of a municipality’s museums system in Italy (Simul). The final design is the result of my bachelor’s degree final project and it is explained in a booklet. The redesign pursues the purpose to achieve more visibility from the part of the cultural institutions, make citizens more aware about its activity on the territory and attract more visitors.

MMF 2013 During the internship at Zetalab studio in Milano I have collaborated to develop, under the supervision of a senior designer, the visual identity for the running 18th edition of Milano Film Festival. Milano Film Festival is an high-quality cultural event which takes place in public spaces throughout the city, attracting every year for about two weeks over 100,000 people from the whole world.
 My task has been to adapt the festival visual identity on promotional material: from magazine ADS to outdoor billboards.

Logotype and visual identity for SNAP, a new fictitious brand launched by an online sales clothes company.
Subject of pictures are cccumulations and random piles of clothes to suggest a daily and homly feeling, core values of the brand.
After group brainstorming, each student has done researches and mood boards in order to conceptualize an individual solution. The dynamic identity is the results of playful combination between still-life photos and typography.

During my studies I have developed interest and passion for photography. I had the opportunity to work in the dark room and to experiment with the off camera technique. I use photography as medium to create interesting graphic design layouts and projects, because I think they can gain a greater visual impact thanks to it.
Still-life image realized on the theme “contrast”; the idea has been to give a concrete weight to something which normally doesn’t have.
School project about the theme self-portrait, images have been shooted in studio and then developed with analogue technique.
