Travel Photography Tips Here is a simple travel photography guide. First and foremost, don’t think that because you don’t have a professional camera that you will not be able to take good photos. Having an expensive stove does not make you a chef, right? A great quote “The best camera is the one in your hand” and if you are like most people today, your next best friend is your camera on your phone. Unless of course you carry a camera like I sometimes do. This guide is to help you see and understand how to get better images, here at home or while you travel. You can practice here at home, afterall, people pay a lot of money to come and vacation in our beautiful Sarasota. Go out and pretend you are on vacation and play with your camera and have fun. Thank you, Maria Lyle

Yes, the camera is your friend. It being a Nikon, Canon or a cell phone camera, you will find that it will make you happy when traveling. There are several types of cameras in the digital market should you decide to go shopping for a new camera. And for this I would recommend to go local. I highly recommend: Johnson Photo Imaging 6709 State Rd 70 East Bradenton, FL 34203 There are several types of cameras, but I will not elaborate in depth, as if and when you would like to make a purchase go to this store and learn what new types of camera are available.

travel light. Bigger cameras are heavier, and adding the lenses you might be sorry. BUT, if you want really good images, certainly the bigger cameras will give a much higher result. I recommend to get inspiration from various sources, and AAA offers a trip tik based on your own wishes of travel. Suzanne Fitzgerald is an excellent resource of information and you will be more than happy to use her expertise. To start your research, Google, Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, books and various travel websites are the way to go. Take notes and create your own itinerary and by having ideas you can certainly come up with a memorable trip.

- Compact cameras, or “point and shoot” - Digital Single Lens Reflex cameras, (DSLR’s), these being a little more serious and more expensive. - Medium Format Cameras, these being really expensive as they are more for professional use. - Mirrorless, (EVIL, for Electronic Viewfinder, Incthe Going back to the phone cameras, the iPhone and Android cameras have excellent features and likely you may or may not be aware of how to use your camera better. If you have a need to learn more, we can set up a time to meet. I highly recommend that no matter what, Studio: 941.362.1957

Bonaire in the early morning offers a beautiful setting with various old slave homes.

This image was taken in Friesland , The Netherlands. I happen to be walking on a trail and looked up at this tree . I loved the tree being all by itself, but the blue sky and the clouds just stole my heart. 8

Bisbee, Arizona is old and quaint. Found this gem at about 3:00 pm. Love the harsh light .

Sunsets are a common visual, this was taken in Mount Dora, shortly after plane landed. Used a long telephoto lens.

Look at the impact of this image versus the image below.

Most people tend to center the horizon line. While this is a nice shot because of the content, the image above has more of an impact. Studio: 941.362.1957
