RESEARCH ON NATURAL JUICE MARKET, COMPETITORS & TARGET MARKET

Similarities

What is most prominent

•Simple, clean and modern •Vibrant and colourful •Personality/dominance in typography. Some typefaces are simplistic while others are display fonts •Fruit vector imagery

•The colour of the juice is most prominent, in contrast with the clear bottle and label. •Next would be the product logo/label. Whether this is large or minimalistic, it stands out as it is situated in the middle of the bottle, with text that stands out

What stands out •Typography •Very minimalistic front label; most of the time only text. I think the simpler ones stand out more than the ones that are busy. They contrast well on a clear bottle with vibrant juice.

Target Market

Product name and logo •The product name and logo is usually situated on the front only •The back of the bottle is usually a lot busier than the front, packed with all the information •Clear plastic packaging and transparent labels •Rectangular shaped bottles

•Modern, trendy design of the juice bottles and laels aimed at young adults •Larger juice bottles/cartons aimed at families/older.

FEEDBACK ON CONCEPT SKETCHES

[

]

I decided to digitise the concepts based on the feedback I received on the class message boards. Concept 1 and 3 (on the following pages) were my initial first choices as I felt they fit the brief, and in response to the research. I decided to also digitise Concept 2 based on the feedback. I experimented with 3 concepts before I decided on which 2 to stick with.

After digitising each concept I posted them on to the message boards to gain more feedback to help me move forward. The development of these concepts can be seen on the following pages.

ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK

[ ] The additional feedback on my digitised concepts helped me decide on the second concept to present.

In response to the feedback I decided to further experiment with Concept 3. The aim was to settle on a font that was visually appealing whilst fitting to the brief. The following page shows type experimentations for Concept 3 followed by the 2 completed label designs.
