a wall is created with Corrugate translucent rooing material , serving as a buffer between the school and the street. with curvilinear and angled walls users are welcome to an inviting entrance on the drop and pick up bus zone

library is the special space of the building. it serves to the student and to the community with different activities including a media room for educational use.

the Fasada has a intimate relation with the students, community, and the context of the site. the buildings surrounding the site all have the linear and uniform windows. i took that reference and represented the different ages of the students that would be using the building . at the same time the different patterns on the windows represent the different culture of Harlem.

FINAL PROJECT to design a 37,350 SF Charter elementary School accommodating 225 to 300 k-5 on a 85’ x 230’ lot. an elementary School serves as a focal point for the community. A Charter School commonly offers specialized and extracurricular program in art, music, science, technology, and sports. as a designer we are asked to select a focus for the design of the Charter School the site is located on 426 w 126 street in west Harlem. the lot # 95 is near to intersection of w 126 and w 127 Street between amsterdam avenue and morning side avenue.

diSCoVerY SCHOOL The concept of my idea is been to create a space that is intimate related, education and community. To achieve this relation I relayed in the precedent study that I was assigned to study “Harlem Children’s Zone”,and my own experience as a student, , i learned that the “way inding” in a school, where kids are learning to read and write, it was an interesting characteristic that i wanted to explore on my project. For this reason I choose the library to be the focus point of the build ding . where this special space becomes the focal point between school and community.
