The current artistic situation in Madrid city is similar to the one in many other main capitals all over the world. There are great museums of great importance and tourist interest, such as ‘Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía’ or ‘Museo Nacional del Prado’. But there’s one thing missing in this artistic environment, a place for the artists who still haven’t had a chance to show their skills. Once the non-existence of these spaces has been noticed, we proceed to do some research about the most meaningful data concerning this cultural aspect. This information is expressed in the diagnosis. The data obtained confirm what was thought at first, the small budget that public administration destine for art is one of the main reasons for the current situation, in addition to the high levels of the cultural ‘IVA’ in Spain.

Wanting to achieve these goals; including that new artists have a place where they can show their artistic personality, that the basic knowledge to understand this emergent-art is taught and that the project is sustainable; we determine a few strategies for these objectives to be achieved. The project is set in disused spaces in the city. It has three different scales; the smallest is the neighborhood one, the median is the district one and the biggest is the city one; trying to generate working and exposition spaces, “schools” and storage units, and a cultural focus respectively. There’s also a financial general plan, to evaluate how real this project could be. These financial methods have the same three scales also. One of the main objectives is to create a new kind of cultural tourism thanks to this network of art installations.
