The development of “après ski” programs will also lead to an influx of tourists in the area.

‣ Poiana Azuga Resort slopes will connect with the existing ski area through Cazacu chairlift.

‣ The Urechea water stream in Poiana Azuga Resort may be the source of mineral water, hydro-energy, breeders trout, recreational lake etc.

‣ Poiana Azuga Resort will be the main attraction of Azuga city, as it will be the place where all winter & summer entertainment will happen for sports and outdoors lovers, leisure and relaxation, as well as business tourism. ‣ Poiana Azuga Resort will be crossed by TRANSBAIUL national road, which continues to the Azuga Alpine Meadow (property of Azuga Mayoralty), and has as main purpose the connection of three important mountain resorts on Prahova Valley, namely Azuga, Busteni and Valea Doftanei. Importance One of the three most important mountain roads and the newest of R o m a n i a p a s s e s t h ro u g h “ o u r garden”, Poiana Azuga Resort. The studies show that the number of tourists coming to Azuga will increase by 40%.

TransBAIUL Road About “Transbaiul” Road is a joint project launched by the three local administrations Azuga, Valea Doftanei and Busteni, to complete a trans-alpine road that will connect Prahova Valley to Doftana Valley, passing Baiului Mountains of Bucegi mountains chain. The road is designed to be 38 kilometers long and to make the connection between Azuga, Doftana Valley and Busteni.

“TransBaiul” goes from three different points, in Azuga, Busteni and Doftana Valley, which join the top of Baiului Mountains, near the peak Cazacu. In Azuga the road leaves from the bottom of Cazacu and Sorica slopes, about two kilometers through the Azuga Valley, then turns right on Cazacu Valley, it continues on Mountain Drive (the road that BESTA has built) for 2 kilometers, after which it reaches Urechea Alpine Meadow and goes on to the mountain top, where the three roads intersect.

Objectives The stated purpose of “TransBAIUL” project is to promote mountain tourism. Landscapes, the authors of the project say, are beautiful and ”breathtaking". In addition a large number of tourists, local authorities are hoping to attract investors.

AZUGA CITY HALL CAN BE INVOLVED IN THE PROJECT IN A PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP (PPP). A PARTNERSHIP WITH THE MAYORALTY CAN BE CREATED IN REGARD WITH THE ALPINE MEADOW, SLOPES, PARKING SPACES ETC ‣ Mineral water (supplied by the Urechea Brook crossing the property) is another project to be developed and then sold under the Poiana Azuga brand (the brand name is reserved).
