16TH STREET,OAKLAND BART STATION

BACKGROUND + LOCATION

16th Street Station Oakland, California 94607

This is a group project with Julia Zhu and myself. I was responsible for a majority of the detailed component line work, textured wallpapers, and model making. The abandoned 16th Street Oakland Bart Station is re-invented into a funtional space. We used the aesthetics of manipulated furniture inspired by common, everyday items from the Dollar Store.

PRODUCT RESEARCH + COMPONENTS

Correction Tape

Correction tape in its current form was invented by a Japanese stationery product manufacturer Seed and launched in 1989.

Eye Glasses

Marshmallow

The oldest known lens was found in the ruins of ancient Nineveh and was made of polished rock crystal, an inch and one-half in diameter.

The Marshmallow candy originated in ancient Egypt. It was essentialy a honey candy that was flavored and thickened with the Marsh-Mallow plant sap.
